the problem is not getting close to US
by Nagender on Jul 12, 2006 04:26 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

This is with reference to column by Manohar Thyagaraj linking Bombay blasts to the growing relation with US.

However, we have had blasts in Mumbai (which had a larger death toll than now) during 1993 when the relations with US were at low key.

The fact is that India is a soft target for showing the strength of religious fundamentalism. This cannot be done on this scale, (setting fire to Godhra pilgrims, attacking Akshardam and the holy shrine at Varanasi, trooping the Parliament itself) in countries like Israel or US or those in Europe.

The problem is with weak security, no value for a human being's life, lack of intelligence (IB), and the overall will of politicians to tackle the issue.

Seven bombs are blasted simultaneously and this is considered as a planned attack. But, with the given security conditions, it is probably possible for the militants to carry out bombings at several places across India. And this gives jitters.

Yes this is very correct.First of all UPA govt is
busy apeasing the minorities and this is encouraging
the terrorist. The Govt.& security agencies are so weak & incompetent that evenwith 2weeks advance warning they could do nothing.
It is said that Mahatma Gandhi used ask to present
other cheek to slapper on the face. Now this Govt. is not only presenting the other cheek but also its PINK
POSTERIOR !!!
All we need is to give Bangladesh 24 hr notice to
dismantle the terrorist camps and handover all the
terrorists holed up there. If they don't act, the Indian forces should storm and bust all things and set example like Israel to Pakistan. If Pakistan doesn't learn lesson then India can take action not
only to bust the camps in POK but also recover lost land. Some price has to be paid for our security or else we have no option than present our posterior and get rammed all the time!

by Prasenjit,Delhi on Jul 12, 2006 04:06 PM  Permalink

First attacks would happen once in a year or two.Now it happens in every month;Varansi incident,Jama Masjid incident,Bangalore incident, kashmir incident and now Mumbai blast. But what our leaders are doing in the interests of security of indian citizens. Are we a silent spectacular? Why cant we stop these activities? And if necessary by attacking and destroying its origin. And is our security system so poor that we cant stop such incidents before it happens? We r just fed up n want strong actions.

Mumbai Blast
by PRINCE CHATURVEDI on Jul 12, 2006 04:03 PM  Permalink

I, as an Indian, feel that the time of assurance by the Govt. and other political parties have completely expired. Either they should have now take action or up their hands accepting their defeat against Terrorism so that public can take action.

mumbai blast
by yogesh p amabrdekar on Jul 12, 2006 03:50 PM  Permalink

I feel deep sorrow for the bomb blast in mumbai & about the people who have suffured from the explosions.
Whatever it may be terrorists or pakistanis its challange to todays youth.People few days ago making riots for the insult of the statue of Late Mrs. Thakarey s'ld see & show their energies against the nonhuman elements.
This is a wake up call for all those who believe in human & god. This is not ISLAM or JIHAD. This is cruelty & nonhuman act for nothing.
Today we need vir savarkar & bhagat singh to impart the thoughts in the minds of the youth & to generate the public awareness against such elements.we have to unite against such elements its time for the another freedom fight for the antiterrorisom.
our new generation is just IT, money & enjoy oriented which has got very less principles. I include myself in it. But i think its time to change ourselfs, if not then our children will suffer .
let us get up & create a group like RSS may be extrimist but will fight against non human factors.

Mumbai Blasts
by Ashok Shetty on Jul 12, 2006 03:45 PM  Permalink

Enough Now....

We should react strongly like Israel & otherwise one-day India will vanish from the world map. Why we should we have so much patience, where the terrorists are killing innocent peoples. Further, why we are giving so much importance to hurriat conference, where they dont have respect to our PM.

Time is come now & if our politicians are really interested in our democracy or only in vote bank.

STOP all the buses to Pakistan.

Security at the information level
by Ambarish Mitra on Jul 12, 2006 03:35 PM  Permalink

it is not logistically possible to provide for physical security like bomb-sniffers, metal detectors etc in all stations of India. Security should be at the information level - set up a highly sophisticated tech agency which can tap ALL telephone and email communications in the country - this will prevent co-ordinated attacks like the one that happened. Of course, we will lose some privacy, but that is a price to pay to stop these cowardly acts of terrorists.

I don't agree with this
by Rajbeer on Jul 12, 2006 02:27 PM  Permalink

Should we get close to terrorist or their mentors????
It just need will and determination as shown by Mrs. Indira Gandhi. We could have nip the evil in the bud during Punjab terrorism time itself. It required a deciding action at taht time.

Talk to Israel not Pakistan Mr. PM
by kunal Sen on Jul 12, 2006 02:26 PM  Permalink

What will the PM do next? I really dont remember the count of attacks that India had taken on since last 2 years. Terrorists striking at the heart of Delhi on Diwali eve, blasting their way in Bangalore (one of the most peacefull city in India) and now killing innocent people in Mumbai. And our almighty PM is busy focussing on the nuclear deal with US. Why ? Why does he have to take it so lightly? Doesn't he know who's behind all this? Whay doesn't he just razes the Terrorist Camps in Bangladesh and Burma. Thats enough to send a strong message to Pakistan. Why doesnt he whip Pakistan hard? Why does he have to continue the peace process when that nation has no interest in it? And pray tell me PM , is India weaker than Pak, militarily and otherwise? Can't it destroy the terror camps in Pak and ask it to shup up if it whines ?
Why does he have to put u such a 'Good-Boy' Image to the international community when his countrymen are dying? Had we been in a country like Israel we would have seen the end of Terror camps around our border. Learn from Israel Mr.PM. Talk to Israel not Pakistan !!

Blasts
by Ravi on Jul 12, 2006 02:25 PM  Permalink

I do not see why India should not get close to the US just because we may incur the 'wrath' of fundamentalists. This amounts to defensive posturing.Though the US has its own agenda , as of now their moves favour India. We just need to react faster and value our citizens more.

To combat this evil we should be more close with US
by zunil on Jul 12, 2006 02:15 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Hi,
As everybody knows,India nad US are the two biggest democrarcies , facing this kind of terrorist acts. We can't hide and severe ties with US and tell that problem is resolved. India has to face this with courage and iron hand and we require the support of like minded nations like US, UK etc.
