Inspiring article

I felt inspired by this article. The points are good. I felt the leadership matters a lot. learning from failure is a good thing. We musn't lose hope and change to the best despite the odds - We will win. That's the spirit any organisation needs to prosper.

I AM PROUD OF ISRO
by pramod nair on Jul 12, 2006 03:41 AM  Permalink

ISRO had 12 successful launches and this accident is just a minor blip in this illustrious institution. As a mechanical engineer i know how tough is it at this high level of technology. It involves cutting edge fluid mechanics, heat and mass transfer, composites etc.Compared to other countries like japan, usa, china etc isro enjoys a high success rate.My humble request to the govt is to raise the funding to isro considerably(cut down the defense spending). Many people might think- why the heck govt should spend so much on isro.In the near future (after the natural resources in earth has dried up) we would have to depend on other planets, moons, asteroids for minerals and energy souces(say for eg a helium isotope in the moon which can be used as fuel).

Quality control
by seshubabu on Jul 11, 2006 05:40 PM  Permalink

I think lapses in quality control and the substandard contractors could be reason for the failures of ISRO.
