Statue desecration at Mumbai
by Dehaleesan on Jul 09, 2006 09:58 PM  Permalink

It was stupid act to have erected a statue & equally stupid was to desecrate that.

Erecting a statue does no good for the deceased. GDP maniac Chidambaram would agree that it does not increase the GDP nor contain inflation.
On the other hand the party men whether willing or not shall have to perform annual ritual of garlanding the statute on birthday, etc.

why not 500 were arrested in bhiwandi also when 2 cops die
by pravin on Jul 09, 2006 08:37 PM  Permalink

why not 500 were arrested in bhiwandi also when 2 cops died in fundamental islamic attack few days ago. this is biased tretement given to different religion people. that is why 12 march 1993 case is pending till date and more bomb blast took place in the cash cow city mumbai. there is a time to take feedback from 1947 incidences and plan to protect our own nation from civil wars. indian common man is help less in this situation. farmers also left with a choice to end his own life only and mill worker is also left to end his own life. only white collered people like rich jamindar farmers, doctors, engineers and lawyers can purchase their all requirements in daily life other wise it is very very difficult for a common man to meet both ends in exponential growth of prises of all comodities. poors have no ray of hope in this kaliyug

SAD CASE
by JAYANT on Jul 09, 2006 07:49 PM  Permalink

What happened was very wrong. But it is sad to note that Mumbai has become a hub of emotional outbursts which not only destroys the image of a commercial city but also deprives its people a fair share to earn their livelihood. Political mileage is gained (though for a short period) at the cost of Maharashtrians and people living in Mumbai for decades. Loss to state and national property to gain footage in the media for vested interests is very wrong. Shiv Sena should have resorted to peaceful means of protest (for a change, like saffron march on the streets of Mumbai and interiors and maybe that could have attracted more media attention with lots of fan following. I am always of the opinion that violence instills fear and not respect, short terms achievements and not long term recognitions. Shiv Sena as a political party can do miracles provided it uses its "Astras" with caution and only when needed.
