attempt to servive shiv sena
by P.Y.KAUSADIKAR on Jul 09, 2006 07:05 PM  Permalink

It is only a political issue made by shiv sena to
show their presence which is totally ignored due to
rising of Maharashtra Navnirman Sena by Raj Thackare.

What about R.R. Patil's comments..
by Talha Ansari on Jul 09, 2006 06:56 PM  Permalink

Day day after the Bhiwandi riots.. deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra Mr. R.R. Patil said that when public goes out of control and starts pelting stones Police should reply them with bullets.. today when public property was openly destroyed.. in presence of our Police.. where was the law and order in the city like Mumbai.. the people who have actually insulted the statue should be punished.. let the Police investigate it and punish the criminal.. who gave Shiv Sainiks the right to take law and order in their hands.. The people who have actually insulted the statue must have been sitting in Z+ security or must have left the country.. and we the common people are suffering the most...

shiv sena protest
by mimo on Jul 09, 2006 06:19 PM  Permalink

Shiv sena claim that they are infuriated because their "mother" has been insulted but by terrorizing mumbai they are insulting my mother ..... mumbai is my mother and I will not forgive anyone who violates and insults her!!

To protect the honour of a stone statue they are beating up innocent humans, vandalizing shops and creating unrest.

If you watch closely, the 'angered' shiv sainiks are throwing stones with a smile on their face and are dancing and making merry as buses burn. This is just a rowdy crowd who want to join the mob... they have no concern with the original cause.

And how is Meenatai's honour going to be restored by spreading violence? I think this is a political gimmick orchestrated by the Shiv Sena itself.

Shiv Sena Protests
by Thanekar on Jul 09, 2006 05:38 PM  Permalink

The Maharashtra Governmenst and the congress is responsible for the incidence happened. Either congress lead governments should stop encouraging the minority or this will happen in every area.

The government should have stopped the Abu Azami the known anti nationalist at Bhiwandi and even after the incidence they could not arrest this anti nationalist.

When the public is depressed and they can not expect justice they behave like Shiv Sainiks behaved today.

Shiv Sena and the mob culture
by S. S. Kumar on Jul 09, 2006 05:07 PM  Permalink

Sir,

Both the politically motivated incident of desecrating the statue and the response of the Shiv Sena are both equally deplorable. If Sena is so bothered about the statue why do they not hire private security and post them on a 24x7 basis around the statue, instead of holding the entire city and State of Maharashtra to ransom. The State police has better things to do than guard one statue.
Regards,

Kumar

Riots in Mumbai
by Sudeep on Jul 09, 2006 03:41 PM  Permalink

It is not surprising to see another break of violence in Mumbai! But it is sad to note yet again that people are not focussed.

In the times when India is competing with the world community, we have a lot of work to do! We have to tell everyone out there that we are the best! Everybody, all of us Indians, no matter even if one of us is working with the Dabba Service in Mumbai is also contributing to the success!

And when such petty incicidents occur, they cause a huge waste of time, loss of government property and sometimes loss of lives. And it is definitely a hickup in our growth. We have to look at the bigger picture and think big.

When will people grow up? When will they mature? When will they stop doing these useless things and focus on real development of the country & of the people?

I'm ashamed to see my fellow Indian indulge in literally mud-slinging time and again.

God bless us, give us the right direction and protect our future from ourselves!

Stop constructing such statues
by sanjay on Jul 09, 2006 03:40 PM  Permalink

Who is this Meenatai Thackarey? Only because she is a wife of a so-called 'Sanskriti Rakshak' leader, her statue should be constructed? What's her contribution to the society? Those who take a hand at "Gandhi-Nehru gharanashaahi" should look at themselves that they are doing nothing but the same thing. Government should look into publicing such private n personal things.
