by Leo DSouza on Jul 10, 2006 12:37 AM  Permalink

While it some bombaite who created the mischief, peolpe of other cities have to unnecessary face hardships, with this sensless smashing of public transport.
Its high time political leaders educate the people instead of inciting them further, threatening further trouble.

Destroying public property is a crime n the police is making brouhaha abt nabbing the culprits who desecrated the idol.Wot abt the ones who r on a meaningless rampage in the city?? Wot is the fault of the innocent ppl??

This has to change
by Prasad Manohar on Jul 09, 2006 11:42 PM  Permalink

Of course, whatever happened to the statue was bad and would have hurt the feelings of the shiv-sainiks in Maharashtra.

But, I really feel our way to express the anger has to change. It was extremely shocking to see the burning bus, broken / damaged shops, and lots of property damage.

This is just an example of our weakness. One perosn does something and we burn the whole Maharashtra, close all the shops, stop doing business. We couldn't be any more weak than this. We can actually work with the police to help them find the person who did this bad thing. But instead, we simply feel great in expressing our anger by burning the whole Maharashtra (or may be Bombay for that matter).

What shocked me more was, Balasaheb or even Uddhav didn't do anything to stop the Shiv sainiks?

This has to change. Really, we cannot be the bottleneck in our own progress.

bandh in Mumbai
by manish on Jul 09, 2006 08:44 PM  Permalink

I think whoever carried out such disgusting thing should be punished. No one should/can do such thing to mother. The culprits should be punished but with all due respect normal citizen should not be deprived of normal life. No daily earner should go hungry due to such incident. I think all should think about this thing. By carrying out forceful bandh does not help anyone and I think person who wanted this thing happen in first place,by carying out such disgusting act, gets what he wanted in first place. I think we all must think about this.

WHAT R WE UPTO??
by JAYANT on Jul 09, 2006 08:10 PM  Permalink

Maasaheb has been insulted by some miscreants but what Shiv Sena party workers are upto has caused pains to many household maasahebs whose children have been put into inconvenience and have lost their livelihood for the day. People are stranded at places, children who have reportedly gone on picnics are stranded and without communication, eateries that provided cheap food to the poor are closed for the day and so on. Shiv Sena, it seems has lost control over its people who get a free permit to ransack shops, buses, etc which cause panic and disaster. Shiv Sena should have shown its strength by conducting protest rallies like saffron march, shouting slogans outside media houses and candle march which should have culminated near the statue of Maa Saheb with garlanding of the statue in media attention. Shiv Sena needs good advisors and more learned people under its flag than having crowd which runs wild creating havoc and disaster. Mr. Uddhav Thackrey.....are you listening??

Shiv sena protests in Mumbai
by labrea on Jul 09, 2006 07:53 PM  Permalink

Forces bent on destabilizing India know that the brainless idioits in this stinking land has a tendency go beserk at the slightest 'provocation', so they only has to do or say something just enough to insult one sector or another, to trigger mass violence, anarchy and chaos - a behavior condoned, santioned and perpetrated by all the political parties. The Police forces, which have been totally politicized, like everything else, are useless do-nothings, forcing people to take matters into their own hands - that's why this is one of the most lawless and unruly nations in the world.
