Wise of Udhdhav !
by chanakya on Jul 10, 2006 12:15 PM  Permalink

Mumbai should not remain closed.

Why should the entire population of Mumbai suffer for the mischief of a few who should be identified, caught and duly sentenced.

Taking the entire population to ransom is counter-productive to the sena purpose.

by Rajesh on Jul 10, 2006 11:04 AM  Permalink

Who is shiv sena to penalise all innocents who never knew what had happened.. this is sheer ... a picture of terrisom from them & the biggest culrpits are they .. who have never given that much respect to their own mother but have come on roads & taken pleasure in blocking, burning, looting, the innocents in the name of somebody else's mother just because they were sure nothing wud happen to them in the name of shiv sena. I am sure the respected lady of the sainiks wud be crying somewhere seeing all this happen in her name ....

No Mumbai bandh on Monday
by Ram Chandran on Jul 10, 2006 09:56 AM  Permalink

Though it is heartening to note that Udhav declared that there is no Mumbai bandh on Monday, the whole episode is unwarranted. Nobody has the right to discrete anybody, living or dead. Then there was no need to install Meenatai's statue in a public place. She was not a freedom fighter, she was not a national figure. She was only a wife of Bal Thackeray, a regional leader. And if every leader (regional or national) puts up statues of his/her kith and kin in public places, there won't be any place left in India. I have every respect for Meenatai in my heart as a woman and I plea to all Sainiks to respect their leader and his family in their heart. The Maharashtra government should do all possible to maintain law and order in the state and avert a possible turn over of the incident into a communal riot.

Its been long time no action from Sena
by Rehi on Jul 10, 2006 09:27 AM  Permalink

Seems like Sena is back into action with their typical anti-economic and insecurity tactics. Within hours shops where forced to closed, bus burnt, and more uncertaininty to millions of Mumbaikars.

But when had Sena cared and protested for those who are unemployed, starving or struggling to settle in life.

For them no issues are the only issues to come back into limelight.

Shivsena and mumbai
by Babloo khanna on Jul 10, 2006 06:24 AM  Permalink

Hi,
Its a shame that even today when our politicians talk about making mumbai into shangai we quarrel over issues which bring halt to this great city.Yes i totally agree with sena that the miscreants should be brought to justice but sena and its supporters should restrain from this sort of behaviour. Its an open story that sena and bjp were out of bussiness due to their personal problems and they just needed a issue and they got one here.i would sincerly request balasaheb to not to exploit this unfortunate incident for political benefits as we all know he is the king of mumbai but its sad to say that this king if wanted would have made mumbai a paradise due to his mass support base but he had just used his supporters for spreading terror and he has not done anything to improve the standards of common marathi manoos.
