Apologies
by Arun Meegada on Oct 18, 2006 08:43 AM  Permalink

This is an apology to Dr Ramadoss for getting personal while discussing this issue. I do understand the right to freedom of expression but one should maintain a certain level of decorum in doing so. I didnt do it and am feeling bad about it. So wanted to apologize for the same. May be seeing my mother suffer from chicken gunaya made me write it that way. However, we do have a commonality in being "Indians" and having concern for the country's welfare. Its easy to discourage and difficult to encourage. So, here I am apologizing to you and encouraging you to do all the good work in your might for our motherland.

Thanks & Regards,
Arun Meegada.

High handedness of the government
by K.Gopalkrishnan on Jul 08, 2006 10:29 PM  Permalink

It is a pity that the congrerss government run by sonia gandhi and manmohan singh has no control on their minisers and UPA partners. In the bargain they are poiling their own reputation. Person like Dr Venugopal ccould have migrated to USA and minted money and recognition. But beause of their patriotism remained in Indina nd served thepeople. Dr. Anbumani is only showing off by habnging a stretoscope in his shoulders and asking the photographers to take his pictures, He cannot even match the stature of Dr Venugopal who is world renowned, I doubt if RAnbumani is recognized in his own native town, Perhap he is only working for his own benbifit tratehr than the country's benifit. He cannot be aa match to Dr Venugopal and his capabillities, I think all the ministers from Tamil Nadu are crating problems for congress including Chidamberam with his lopsied policies an he is only capable of noding his heads faster than he is able to put across his points of view!!!!

High Court Intervention
by B N Goyal on Jul 08, 2006 03:51 PM  Permalink

It appears that the govt is being run by the courts. The issue could have been settled by the PM or the cabinet. The Health Minister should have resigned.

Dr. Venugopal's dismissal
by Devendra Rawat on Jul 08, 2006 03:39 PM  Permalink

The current Government should concentrate on other areas inspite of spoiling health industry. This is realy very unacceptable decision taken by the government. They should take hospitals out of their politics. They should look after other problems which our country is facing these days.

Irresponsible
by Arun Meegada on Jul 08, 2006 02:27 PM  Permalink

The union health minister if he deserves to be called so, has to stop chasing the renowned doctor and concentrate on his job responsibilities. The Chicken Guinea fever has risen its ugly hood in most parts of the country and converting into a national epidemic. Its high time the health ministry takes up measures to control it. Its really a shame that instead the minister chose to nourish his ego trip.
The other side of coalition governments is really ugly. Now any Tom, Dick and Harry can become an Union Minister. I think it would be a great idea if the proposed candidates from a party for a particular portfolio be designated before elections itself. In this way, there would not be any barter system and people will vote for the candidate who they think is the most suitable for a particular portfolio and also it means the best team and the most eligible will form the government.
Wish I could change the constitution. His Excellency and Our Beloved President, can u do something about it.

DrVenugopal
by pazhoor gopalapanikkar on Jul 08, 2006 07:49 AM  Permalink

The health minister should restrain himself being biased on the reservation issue. The reservation in any form is against merit and no country can progress by killing merit. There is a strong attempt by the politicians to devide the society to create vote banks. DrVenugopal is an eminent surgeon and he is an asset to India. The attempt to remove DrVenugopal should be seen in the light of these facts.
All should comtempt the attempt of DrRamdoss to interfere with the day to day affairs of AIMS

Relieved...
by Krushna on Jul 08, 2006 06:01 AM  Permalink

I request rediff not to publish my previous message which was posted by me after reading the headlines and news in hurry and I somehow misinterpreted the news.

High court is doing well. I am feeling nice and relieved after knowing that I had misinterpreted this news and the real news is real justice. Good, keep it up high court.

Ramadoss should be fired from ministry
by Sumit Dua on Jul 08, 2006 02:56 AM  Permalink

It's Ramadoss who should be fired instead of Venugopal. Shame to our weak PM Manmohan Singh.

Seems like this govt. has taken pledge to misuse power and do injustice.

One thing is for sure I will never vote for congress in future.

Sumit
