i request communists should introspect -1.when their party affliated unions, like banks, insurance, ports, railways, rtc's etc througout the country take out strike for days together and make the public suffer how that they do not realise that it is causing inconvenience a lot for the public and school going children( since they obstruct traffic during before and colsing of the school). so only when docs go on strike they realise that the patients are suffering. suffering is suffering no matter he is patient and or normal human being on the road suffering due to strikes.2.who wrote the constitution, afterall a set of human beings. these human beings are from political parties (or supported or aligned with) and these political parties write the constitution for their vote bank politics. how that they say as and when they like or convenience invoke that this or that as per constitution and we should not violate.3.nothing is permmannet in this world. everything changes and so the constitution. is it not the time that the country should bring out a rule book for expressing dissent open in public. you cannot advocate one rule book for others and another for your party on such isssues-ml

Dr.Venugopal sacking
by ganga on Jul 06, 2006 08:22 PM  Permalink

What the hell is going on here?A bloody minister sacks Director of a prestigious institute for no obvious reason. If he has a personal reason,I dont care. For that matter who cares about his preferences anyway. Most deplorable thing is Congress govt is distancing itself(.Because of what?Fear of loosing power?(dont blame me anticongress).PM has no knowledge in some of the decisions taken by his ministers!!!I dont know how long he is going to hang on there.
My simple question is how long the Indian public is going to put up with the inefficient governments?

Dr. Venugopal Vs Rama Dossa
by arbind on Jul 06, 2006 05:30 PM  Permalink

The facts speak itself. Dr. Venugopal a dedicated professional served humanity for nearly half a century.

Rama dossa tried hands at medical profession, but failed and joined politics thinking it as a better field where the people of his temperament easily thirve.

Now he was disillusioned that he got the position to boss over those, with whom he could not compete in his earlier career and by punishing a prestegious professional tried to quench his ego.

But this is only his disillusion that he won the battle.
Result is still to come out. Did he forget forget the results of his previous battle? (SC's comments on his deesions).

Communist Parties of India
by sudhir suri on Jul 06, 2006 12:51 PM  Permalink

One had healthy respect for he views of the Communist parties of India. I in my child hood that they had answers to countries problems. I was an avid reader of PATRIOT newspaper.I think in supportinfg UPA coalition ,they have showed themselves in poor light.
They have not ugraded themselves as STATESMAN .Their economic outlook has definitely an opportunistic touch
Apart from strike /Bandh they have no soloution for the country.
While I may not agree with Dr Manmohan singh policies , he is still missionary in his zeal and has made conytibution to the cause of INDIA. I t is sad that he has to depend upon Communist parties for elbow space.

Not good for AIIMS
by ramesh on Jul 06, 2006 12:44 PM  Permalink

This issue shows the height of politics. It is very sad that a minister out of his ego can sack a institute director. That way he satisfied his ego but failed in keeping his oath that he took at the time of taking the charge of ministership.....Let us join hands in sacking this kind of ministers..

Congress will pay the price
by Saurabh Bajaj on Jul 06, 2006 12:24 PM  Permalink

Congress will pay the price for the manner in which things are being handled by it.....
for the past two years it seems that India has ceased to be a democracy. Here public opinion does not matter on any policy decision of the so called United Progressive Alliance which is neither united nor progressive but just a power hungry alliance.

SHAME!!!!!
