Removal of AIIMS director
by Anirudh on Jul 05, 2006 06:02 PM  Permalink

It is irony that the cap is smaller than the head. In Bihar, the elected representatives exploit & use the government officials to their own ends. Similar is the case in Uttam Pradesh(Uttam from bottom). Did the fathers(Too many fathers/cooks spoil the broth) of our constitution that when they were advocating Reservation, they were doing it at the cost of Meritocracy.

This nation has become synonimous with Mediocracy or a nation of lambs ready to be slaughtered. People like Ramdoss(a very pious name indeed) are being produced by this very system. There are many more like Ramdoss. What do you say about Uncle Arjun, or Grampa V.P.Singh? When the nation was trying to forget who came from which womb, Grampa V.P. through Mandal commission rudely and bloodily shook every one not to forget this.

We need another freedon strugle and matryers to come out of this mess. Do not leave it to the politicians because the cap is much smaller thant the head..

sacking of AIIMS director
by M.Yaqoot on Jul 05, 2006 06:00 PM  Permalink

Though i admire Mr. Venugopal as a doctor, i do feel that he must have been sacked long before. The way he organised anti-reservation protests inside the AIIMS premises was not in good spirit. In his personal capacity, he has every right to show his disagreement with government policies, but as the director of AIIMS he must have acted accordingly.
However popular a person is, he must obey the law of land. I think his sacking has come a bit late.

UPA Govt. proves its vindictive yet again
by HP on Jul 05, 2006 05:59 PM  Permalink

It is sad that the right to free speech is slowly being undermined in the current govt regime. This act of health ministry sends out the message "protest against anything we do, however wrong or inpalaetable, face dire consequences". A more vindictive govt. India has never seen. I sincerely hope that we will never see one such after UPA. It is high time the ppl of India wake up!!! A country that is not a meritocracy will NEVER grow.

Mockery of the system
by Vinay Kale on Jul 05, 2006 05:49 PM  Permalink

It is just an example of the biggest mockery. A stupid person trying to prove his stupidity again. Anbumani Ramadoss, God only know how he was elected, has the right to remove a talented person, if we remember the first Indian who did the Heart Transplant.

UPA beware, the elections will be coming soon.

Justice Prevails
by equality forum on Jul 05, 2006 05:45 PM  Permalink

It\'s a relief to know that AIIMS Director has been sacked. He presided over the anti-reservation strike initiated by doctors for days together. This caused great trauma and misery to the patients from poor comminities who are at the mercy of the \'meritorious\' doctors who were on strike. Finally justice has been done. Three cheers to the Minister of Health for ensuring that justice be done.
