AIIMS Directoe Sacked
by Ajay Thanekar on Jul 05, 2006 07:22 PM  Permalink

This is what a shameless government does. Everyones has a right to express his/ her opinion in DEMOCRACY. If the Government behaves in such a irresponsible way then people has a weapon in their hand to protest against the Government i.e. the election. This time the congress will not come back in the Government if they continue to behave like they are behaving.

Dr. Venugopal's dismissal
by Sanjeev Kumar Srivastava (Ph D rep. IIT delhi) on Jul 05, 2006 07:10 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Dear friends

It is really bad from Govt. autocratic perception on an issue to remove any reputed person. We should boycott the government by calling a strike in all over the India. It is the high time to teach a lesson to the policy makers who are not aware of the ground realities faced by the Society. Beware from this type of Govt.

Thanks

Dr. Venugopal's illegal removal.
by Patriot on Jul 05, 2006 07:09 PM  Permalink

Dr. Venugopal's illegal removal smacks of the UPA's continued antidemocratic and autocratic ways of functioning.

Health Minister Anbumani has no business in meddling in the autonomy of a reputed institution like the AIIMS. Already, he has been abusing and misusing his post ever since he became a cabinet minister from nowhere and added to this comes as a bolt from the blue of Dr. Venugopal's removal on a day when the Delhi High Court was hearing a writ petition that sought to restrain the Centre from removing Dr. Venugopal from office. Anbumani's action is clearly exposes his attempt at cocking a snook at the judiciary, as well as preempting the latter's likely grant of stay. It is high time Dr. Kalam put an end to the highhanded and dictatorial functioning of the puppet government at the centre.

Rama Rama

Rama Rama ! What is happening? If Ramados can sack a Dr of Venugopal stature, then the day is nearing for country to go to dogs. Even Barking dogs seldom Bite. But politicians in India not only bark but bite too. Intellectuals in high posts be watchful.

If Dr Venu retaliates there are many to support him. Good luck Dr VG and Down Down Dr RD.

Ramdoss as many of the other mististers of Manmohan cabinate has thinking as a king of a kingdom. Its more than dictatorship. Why dont manmohansingh declare emergeny officially than his ministers doing it unofficially....

DMK and its ministers are doing no good to the country.. DMK by giving support to UPA got the best deal getting 8 minitries for 39 MP support.Since then its agenda is to make money for itsdelf and its minister's. They think they ministers of TN and not whole india.this dayanidhi maran is forcing all the telecom MNCs to shift there offices to Chennai. What a bad use of cabinate minister position.

And what should we say about our great (?) priminster. He is behaving like the wise monkey of gandhiji ,SEE NO BAD,SAY NO BAD and HEAR NO BAD. Surprising to see this is the same congress which gave brave priminister like indira gandhi.Shame shame....

Health Minister seems not in senses
by sudoo on Jul 05, 2006 06:39 PM  Permalink

I wonder instead of honouring the commitment of these highly reputed doctors and providing a better medical support system that is competent with any in the world, they are after what is left. When this Ramadoss would get ill, he would be the first one to run to London leaving a crippled society and system behind for the countrymen. Ramadoss doesnot seem to understand what is talent and what is takes to become a doctor like Venugopal who did first cardio transplant in the country. This would prove TOO demoralizing to rest of the brains in the country who want to work and do some good here.

Govt seems to be too self centered into itself.

They have made AIIMS also a playground of their politics. UPA govt sucks, Cong sucks. BJP is wanted at all costs to save.

Dismissal of AIIMS Director
by Jagdish on Jul 05, 2006 06:23 PM  Permalink

Congratulations to Health Minister Mr Ramdoss and welcome your wonderful action. The best starting to stop a handful people to abuse the country for their own benifits at the cost of our country fellows. I salute you for your bravo decision.

The medical profession teaches the doctors to see the humanity and to treat the patients with ultier motive to cure them and not to look at their castes while treating them. If the doctors themselves sow the seeds of casteious feelings, societal bondage of affection and brotherhood could be loosened, making the society sick and weakening the country.

Dismissal of Dr. A. Venugopal, the AIIMS Director will be counter-productive
by Dr. Dhanakar Thakur, national organising Secretary,NMO on Jul 05, 2006 06:22 PM  Permalink

The NMO (National Medicos Organisation) has strongly criticized the dismissal of AIIMS Director Dr. Venugopal on the behest of the Union Health Minister Dr. A. Ram Doss, particularly when not only the Delhi High Court was hearing the matter but also Dr.Ram Doss is already under the scanner of the Office of Profit Bill.

Moreover such actions undermine the autonomy of a world reputed institute in which India used to take pride.

After all if the GOI wants that the premiere educational institutes should be political domain let it be but it will not yield any positive result but in the end will be counter-productive to the Govt. as well as the country as a whole.
