we are entering into doomsday.we had heard of asuras or deamons spoiling the holy places of worship and
spoiling the whole atmosphere. Now in the guise of
ministers and as elected members of parliament/assemly
these power mongers are vitiating the healthy
atmosphere of learned institutions of India.
Those who cannot even qualify to get a berth in such
respected institutions are shaking them at the very
grass roots. They have one qualification , that of being chosen by the masses ( since there is no other go than elect one amongst a bunch of fools).A common man cannot help in such situations as these, except to
protest.
Mr.Putin has warned of a clash of religions but
what we find here is a clash of castes.God save India.
The suspension of Dr.Venugopal is not only outrageous but also sends wrong signals from the Ministry of Health. Institutes like AIIMS will remain 'autonomous' only on paper, never in principle, thanks to the interference by the government. With what moral right, then, can the government ask doctors to serve the community, do rural service, etc. when it cannot guarantee the post of the highest authority of the highest medical institution in this country? Sure, many will even dread to join government services henceforth under the constant fear that someday, they may be sacked as brutally as Dr.Venugopal, that too, for some flimsy reason. What future, then, can we expect of our medical institutions? Can we stop brain drain by sending these unhealthy signals? I think time has come for everyone in this country to stop abusing and ill-treating doctors. God forbid, a day might come when we'll not have any good guys left in this country to take care of the sick and the needy.
The dismissal of Dr.Venugopal shows the highhandedness of the health ministry. The minister should keep in mind that Dr.Venugopal is serving the country and not him.He should forthwith withdraw the recommendation. Also it smacks of the attitude of the minister towards the forward caste.
If there is one person who should be shown the door , it should be Anbumani Ramadoss. Venugopal should stay put and not give in to such elements. These elements like Ramadoss are more used to sycophants and yes-men than men of spine. So Venugopal's behaviour is a big affront to their feudal thinking.

A person of Dr Venugopal`s stature and calibre should have stayed out of a government set up long ago and amassed a lot of wealth . He should have been away from the stupid politicians long back . Alas it is too late now for him to rectify that mistake . Ramdoss or any other minister for that matter will definitely find a sadistic pleasure in harassing a person with such a calibre. The whole episode is not shocking in Indian democracy where talent has no role . brain drain is a must to save the talented . People should move to countries where there is much appreciation to their talents and work .
The dismissal of Dr. Rao was imminent since he instigated medicos for anti-reservation agitation rather than concentrated on functionng of AIIMS. And above all the decision was taken by majority of governing council of AIIMS.
Congress throughout the history of ruling India has a legacy of intolerance towards criticism. It has surfaced again with the dismissal of Dr venugopal. I wonder if a movement can be started to save India through these columns!
