Cheers to d rain god n to thnaks to babus who sabotiged the massive plan to save mumbai from suffering again aftr the last 27th's deluge.....janta..njoi ur holidays and semi holidays 4 as long as dey last!!
heavy rains hav left the people of mumbai shattered and once again remembering 26th july of 2005. govt talks abt rain water harvesting and treatment but what is BMC doing with so much of rain water being wasted in just 5 days. whta abt the water treatment plants that each state has for such water to be utilised
it is of real worry for the places like mumbai and places where there is no rain

First let BMC ponder upon some relief measures then we can think of water harvesting plans for Rajasthan.
If the rivers in india would have centralised and dams built wherever necessary, the rain waters could have been diverted benefitting the dry states like Tamilnadu.etc.By the way, we can avoid loss of life and damages.
This is not happened due to lack of planning.
Will authorities consider, atleast in the future..?
Yesterday was a prime example of what the sarkari babus have been doing all the while... the uncompleted work on Andheri-kurla road also adds to the trouble... the amount of digging that BMC or MMRDA had done over here... i wont be suprised if they strike oil in the next few months.
Our babus are like Nature... they never pay attention to criticism.. will we ever learn
There are a lot messages posted blaming the BMC, the CM, the mayor and generally the administration. But, can anyone for sure say it would have made any difference if someone (anyone for that matter) else was in power. The
problem is with all of us. We, Indians have 'zero' civic sense. We abuse our drains and roads. We make mockery of city laws, be it traffic or building construction or any other. I don't see any hope.

Dear Mr M,
I am Geeta from nashik, and let me tell u that not only in Mumbai but here to we blame the politician ....and why should we the people of india do blame them ...they too are our great countries sons but what are they doing ..are they looking after people. NO NO THEY ARE BUSY FILLING THERE cupboard, bank accounts and pockets. You tell me or give one politican who has just now visted Mumbai's such area in which it have rained heavly.
So Dear First thinks as to what u want to say then comment......its very easy making comment COME FORWARD AND JOIN THE POLITICS AND HELP POOR.
Crazy as it seems to me the workings of our beloved politicians. They are busy filling their own coffers and where is the time to take care of the public?
I have witnessed very heavy rains when I was in the US and I could not see water-logging in the streets beyond 1 day. The drainage system is fantastic.
We are also to be blamed to vote for these fools who do not know anything other than paying lip service. It is we who have to decide what we do with our own power!!
Though the night of Tuesday passed smoothly without much raining, raising a hope of better Wednesday; but alas! it started pouring heavily from the heaven making it very difficult to commute, as the news of stalling of Mumbai's life-line coupled with road flooding made it still worse to ply a vehicle on the road as well. So I decided to remain indoors & enjoying rains sitting at home with a hope that tomorrow will be a dry day.
It is not heavy rains but normal rains of the season. The mess is due to negligency of local Administration who spent their years enjoying the fruits of independence without doing anything for the city.It boasts much but actually it has nothing except history of past legacy left over by the britishers.See the other cities in the country, how they are managing their port cities like Chennai,Visakhaptnam and Calcutta. They have frequent cyclones every year but they have no problems like Mumbai.Mumbai is for rich and effullent and they never cared for basic civic amenities. The roads are in bad shape with slums and filthy everywhere with concrete gungles .Only some supernatural forces can bring it into proper shape.
