Total False
by Kishore on Jul 05, 2006 05:18 PM  Permalink

The actress is totally telling something false: I am a keralite and only a keralite can no the santity and the pureness of the temples in kerala. THere are certain things w,r.t to Kerala which are quite odd to all other states in India: for eg: NO girls can enter any temple in Kerala Wearing Chudithar or pants or stupid jeans: they have to wear Saree or the tradidtional dress of Kerala... all men have to wear dhoti and NO SHIRTS... EVEN rajiv Gandhi was not allowd to enter the Guruvayur temple as he was wearing Kurta... who is this stupid lady... ?? even if tommorrow some lady claims that some lady went inside the guruvayur temple wearing pant, then we know its not possible.. and what stupidity she is taking. If the Kannada actress has entered Sabrimala temple, when she is 20yrs old... she has did a huge mistake.. by spoiling the purity of the place... we are not against any one / sex entering /praying a god ... but if there is a tradition respect.. there is place called melmarvathur in Tamil Nadu where women are the most important and all men respect the same...y do u want get such cheap media status with god...

Fact & Blaming Jaimala
by Reena Sharma on Jul 05, 2006 05:16 PM  Permalink

I am not sheilding the jaimala's mistake, as per media. I want to comment on the women right over the religious circle. when i was around 9 or 10 i have visited shabarimala with my family, where only my uncle, grandmother and myself visited the holy shrine and my mother and sister is not allowed and we passed the holy 18 steps to the divine palace.i can hardly remember the shabarimala and always tempted to visit again, since after, but due to the religious, artificial barrier made by humans , hope my wish will never come true, i dont know whether i will live for next 25 years to visit again. Can the media, the commentors against this news justify the statement that, few years back, a womens are allowed to the shabarimala during the vishwakarma period entering the divine through back door not throgh the 18 steps, what happens after sometime, why they have taken the decision only by prohibhiting the womens entry.Hope the reason behind the decision will be to maintain cleanliness I agree and in general practice women dont worship god physically during her menstrual period then what is the reason behind this decision.the best examplisbutnospace2rit wants more 2writenthanx4Opurtunity

Aren't women human beings
by Krishna on Jul 05, 2006 05:12 PM  Permalink

It surprises me that the entire so called male devotees of Lord Iyyappa have not understood Lord Ayyappa for that matter GOD!

It is the humans that create their own GOD. Some create a compassionate GOD, some create a punishing GOD, some create a GOD who plays with HIS devotees, some create a judgemental GOD..each according to his level of faith and his bond with his GOD.

GOD is grossly misunderstood and this has been so for many thousands of years. We always try to believe in GOD and very few have the direct experience of GOD. The others who have not got the experience, simply tend to believe what others say. This is the way, our religions are born. It is sad, that instead of yearning to experience GOD, one is getting indulged in all these false beliefs and more so harassing everyone in the name of this religion.

The current episode is an example of the form of GOD who punishes females, when they visit the temple. This form of GOD was designed by the entire humanity and it is now the same humanity that is complaining about the current predicament!!

The great devotees of GOD know that GOD can be designed in the way a potter designs the clay in hand.

Regards
Krishna

Big deal!
by Abhishek Mohan on Jul 05, 2006 05:10 PM  Permalink

I don't think its a big deal and women should be allowed in.

Just a clarification to some users who posted their comments:

Ranbir Singh - what was meant by the sentence "women are human beings before god" is that women are viewed as human beings by god , just the way men are. You may wanna rethink your post.

kalyani - JUst because something has been done for ages it doesn't mean its right! Let me illustrate......Slavery, sati , the caste system....maybe we need to stop being medeival and think about some of the things we accept and practise without knowing whether they are right or wrong.....

I dont mean to be preachy but i hope we put common sense before blind faith...

Horse manure
by Saikat Biswas on Jul 05, 2006 05:08 PM  Permalink

Such grotesquely sexist mindset is typical of Hinduism as practised by its devotees. I have always been repelled by the idea that Gods, while being superior to humans in every respect, are nevertheless aroused at the sight of women and should therefore be protected against such defilement. Why not extend the same protection to Hindu goddesses? Or are we to believe that perhaps it is only the 'male' gods who need the protection because they are... well, incontinent?

Aren't women human beings?
by Vijay on Jul 05, 2006 05:07 PM  Permalink

I am against any barriers to religion.

Rules and regulations are made and broken by human beings and not the almighty gods. Once SATI used to be there in Hindu religion, again in the name of god, however, now it is changed. Time is changing so do our belief.

We should change. I haven't read much about GOD Ayyappa but I am sure GOD will never create these barriers of worshipping him.

Though I am a man, but incase I would have been a woman, I would have done this repetitively without any fear.

One should not be rigid in the name of god.

God loves all. It is man who hates each other and in the name of god created these barriers.

Be open minded and question yourself before you question anyone else.

women and men are equal before god but we have beliefs....
by Ram Mohan on Jul 05, 2006 05:04 PM  Permalink

Women and Men are equal before God. when Jayamala posed a question \\\\\\\"are women not humnabeings before God?\\\\\\\" shows her ignorance about hinduism.

As a matter of fact there are many occassion when only women are allowed to perfom Pujas and men are strictly not allowed.

It is the belief which matter. We know on certain days we consider women are not in state to enter even Puja room inside our houses. incase of sabarimala they cannot ask each women what their state is so it is set as defacto rule that women from age 10-50 cannot enter temple as they can be in stated which is considered improper to perform puja..

Use senses man..before saying anything and everythng. we have such clear cut lines in hinduism,,, i rally why these silly ppl fight on everythng they get in hand.
