by arjun on Jul 04, 2006 11:17 PM  Permalink

So much for making mumbai the financial capital of Asia.

Hopeless, shameless, unorganized are not strong-enough words to describe our govt.

Mumbai which contributes to over 80% of the country's tax collections has such sub-par infrastructure.... how can the govt talk about becoming a SUPERPOWER when it cant even make good gutters & drainage system.

jaago mohan pyaare...

The fear factor engulfs Mumbai
by labrea on Jul 04, 2006 11:10 PM  Permalink

No amount of 'Long-term Planning' will fix anything, as long as any sacnctioned development funds all end up in the pockets of criminally corrupt babus and netas, all with the full knowledge and blessing of the 'burra logs' in Delhi. There's only two options for you folks in Slumbai or wherever - shut-up and live with it or emigrate - no third front here.

Rain ?
by selva on Jul 04, 2006 10:48 PM  Permalink

Bring the authorities who claim they spent 100crores, to the road, and tie them to the lampposts, under the heavy rainfall.

Shame even on the families of those officials, who also enjoyed robbing the public money.

When are we going to change?

When are people going to take charge of the officials?

When are the corrupt officials realise that they are accountable to the public?

Why don't they change?

Why such people are still in power?

Once again, when the rain stops, Mumbaikars will start to run their own jobs and businesses.

No one is going to bother to remember what is happening now.

Everyone will forget how much scattered were the loved ones, and family members who got disconnected for days, without seeing each other.

Shame on you!!!

This was to Happen
by sam on Jul 04, 2006 09:35 PM  Permalink

The whole world wants to come to mumbai to work
there is also a limit or what you call as saturation point the city can intake.Too much is also too Dangerous.this city has become hugely populated
therefore cannot cater to the needs of every human being in this city why blame the the oficials for it alone the influx in the city needs to be controlled.
if a person over eats he becomes fat its the same with the city the population has crossed all limits
employment preferances should be given to the city people first and then to outsiders industry should takecare of it.

People, instead of sharing here why don t we all do something like the medical students did. Why dont we ask Mr. Johnny (BMC chief) to resign and drive a BMC garbage truck has his next job in BMC.

Secondly, BMC should be privatized.
