This is another example of expliotation of indian public by their so called inhuman rulers read "beurocrates".
This is very strange that under pressure from such people our government of day doesn't want to make them accountable for their work. Beurocrates just want to enjoy power without any accountability. In Maharastra govt is bringing bill to punish govt employees, if they delay or obstruct the work but pls see IAS, IPS & IFS class is expemted from this bill.
Does this mean that this class is not accountable to their work or does it mean this class doesn't work at all.
In Mumbai, we have not learnt any lesson from past. Will govt think to take on the municiple commissioner for the negligence in work, which affect crores of people.
In China, one of Municiple head was not only removed from post but also put behind bars recently, for small industrial disposal into city river. if this is the way of making people accountable...than lets try
Why people of India shoudl continue to suffer at hands of so called rulers?
... Mithi. It had to be the same river again this time. I reached the Andheri Kurla road, at 830AM. smooth till that time on bus route 488 from Goregaon (W) telephone exchange to SakiNaka - My ticket cost me 10 bucks... but what I saw at Sakinaka was worth the trip. A river flowing along the Andheri Kurla road, moving westwards towards the station... and I remembered last year... 26th July forwarded upto 4th July. Independance day in the US, but here, we are struggling under the pathetic guidance of the greatly politicised and uncontrolled administration of this city. There was muck on the road, there was no where but towards the west that the water could flow, for there was no outlet for the water to go. The roads are concrete, there is no natural gound/earth to absorb the water and give it the natural course into the depths. All the concrete, most places being sloped unevenly takes the water in it's most preferred slope. for the administration, 1st time mistake, 2nd time blunder and any more such events, it should be a punishable crime. But the administration is going to go scott free this time too.... that's India, that's Bombay, that's the politics of this city.

I agree with you and we should all draft a email and a letter with our names and sign and give it to all leading newspapers.. Its a Damocratic country the Govt just cant keep sleping like this..
The government in mumbai is not at all taking care of the mumbai citizens, they should have planned for this disaster last year itself but the politicians are just enjoying the rains by sitting in five star comforts, why to close schools ,just because the inablity of the government that it cannot arrange proper facilities so as to safe gaurd the small kids, the goverment should have planned to declare the reopening of schools from august 15th onwards, no planning by governemnt, they should have cleaned the nallas, stopped illegel encroachment good pumps at different places to remove the water, short term recruitment of personnals to save the persons and place them at startegic places, good communication facilities, all these could have been done if had been Mumbai been ruled by the government of Mumbai, not by the government of Maharashtra, it is high time that mumbai and pune should be separated from Maharashtra and be ruled as one more Marathi state which will safe gaurd the population of Mumbai and Pune and develop in world class cities

It looks like everytime something goes wrong and its government's fault. What about encrochments happening .. How many of you who are blaming goverment really check whether you or your house owner has not done illegal construction . There are 350 + people coming for other than maharashtra everyday .. half of them are getting absorbed into slums where they illegally staying on railway space, sewage canals and encroching every bit of land leaving no space for even rain water to pass .. Looks like we have to have under ground tunnels specifically done for rain water .. This is grave situation and everybody is equally guilty .. Stop land encrochment, illegal constructions, don't buy or rent it, this will certainly lead to better Mumbai !!
