ITS NAGPUR CALLING
by Hanif Mohammed on Jul 04, 2006 11:38 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

I am sure the text is coming from Nagpur, and author is signing his name below. Well, you can keep trying, because only 500 odd people have responded to your article positively, which represents 0.00005% of India's population - you have a long way to go - you are not going to achieve your wishes in your life time !! The diversity of Indians is unique, and we are marching FORWARD - not backwards, as you wish !!! You should seriously consider on how to tackle the racial issues of France, which is a burning topic today - we as 'UNITED INDIANS' will manage ourselves, without any French connection !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dear Hanif, I must admit that in the past I was biased against Muslims. But given the real possibility of exclusion from mainstream life, I really admire Muslims who still are proud to call themselves Indians. It takes a lot of courage. I too hope India remains a single country, I think there are many good qualities among Indians even among all this caste/religion/language hatred...which will win?

Great comment

It is ironical that sense should come from a frenchman! after the British left, the congress government is continuing to play the divide and rule game. We cant let go the legacy of the 'whiteman'. Today it is against the OUCs tomorrow there will be divisions among the OBC and SCs as well as the pie gets smaller. Reminds me of the indian crab story. When one section is moving up, just pull them down!!

We need an India based on merit
by ravi kant pathak on Jul 04, 2006 11:32 AM  Permalink

sir today i think that your article has enough comment how upper caste are marginalised,so why not give some better solution to your reader how this discrimination will be minimised.as per as in this era still some of the people(our parents generation)or a bit before of that still resist for the caste difference(internally)but accepted as openly.so i think the so called discrimination less society will take some time not more but at least 10 years when we are in group of our parents generation(we dont bother about the caste).
if polotician not stopped mandalisation then what happens ,still we are poor but called as upper which shows the mentality once a lower always a lower regard less of their money and standards.poor.....backward still they dont get something.

good article
by ajay on Jul 04, 2006 11:27 AM  Permalink

Thanks for such an eye opener. Its really silly to have voted for congress but the BJP also didn't do much for hindus. It didn't take steps for abrogation of article 370 and ram janam bhoomi etc. I am definitely going to vote for BJP because if doesn't do good then it doesn't do bad either like congress and srjun singh.

I am upper Caste: Migrated to Singapore forever!!
by Srinivas on Jul 04, 2006 11:24 AM  Permalink

Hi,
I am an upper caste. Now there is no place for me in India and I have migrated to Singapore forever. Now I hate India and its casteist politicians as they are dividing the country and the Hindus. Better to be in other country and even racism from someone else is ok, atleast better than discrimination from your own countrymen.
Thanks.

Indeed that is true!
by K. S. Mayya on Jul 04, 2006 11:24 AM  Permalink

I once remember our english teacher explained to us our carelessness. You people don't take my class seriously because, our goverment spends a lot of money for what I teach and you pay nothing. On the contrary, if you would have taken private tuition by paying huge sum, you would pay attention to the teacher and absorb maximum amount of knowledge because you want maximum returns from your investment. This is the sense that is likely to prevail into the mindset if the whole system is systematically demeritized. Reserved candidates first of all will not take the education seriously and in turn our great institutions will churn incompetent human resource that will further be injected to the system and to further increase the level of incompetence in the education system and elsewhere. Take a hint and make everyone earn the degree and not let them just get it because their ancestors were oppressed. You can always have fee wavier for financially challenged students with merit.

India based on merit
by Sajit on Jul 04, 2006 11:18 AM  Permalink

Are recruitments of 'top' companies based on merit. I doubt it.I have seen some of the friends who are perceived to be from the 'unpriviledged section of the society' being repeatedly rejected after the final round of interviews in the above mentioned 'top ' companies.....
