The bills passed by both the houses of US Congress are dreconian with many intrusive and all pervasive clauses which have direct bearing on our soverignity. The clauses mentioned as Sense of Congress and Policy Objectives whcih are referred to as not bindng are in fact inserted to "hypnotse" us not to see the real intention. They mention Iran reference is not binding. But the operative part of the bills namely presidential determnation refers to this by Section's number and for the 123 agreement to be valid every year, President has to determine whether India has addressed the Iran issue. Nothing is mentioned about the energy security but only the conditional clauses to make India strictly adhere to NPT. India is being treated as a NNWS and all the relevant sections of US atomic energy act referred to are meant for NNWS. Even our nuclear weapons programme has to be verified and certified by the US president. Even our annual rate of mining of uranium is to be tabled on US Congress. In short we lose our independence on atomic energy entirey. I urge all to read both the bills carefully word by word along with the US atomic energy act to see how dreconian these are.
