A tyrant ...
by AB on Jan 31, 2006 05:10 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Does anyone not fid it strage to have a chief guest at our secular "republic" (meaning sovreinity of the ppl) day, who is
1) a King
2) A religious tyrant
3) A dictator
4) A funder of a terrorist state (Pakistan)
( not in that order).
We understand the need for Oil and hence the need to kiss the butt of this tyrant, but to have him deface on our day of sovreignity is unacceptable.

RE: Under this Govt.....
by J.N.Mahanty on Feb 01, 2006 04:17 AM  Permalink
Very well said.
It is clearly established the people associated with this Govt are not only spineless, but also shameless, unless they are working with a hidden agenda to cover up their ...

If this Govt continues, time is not far that we may see Gaddafi or Sadam Hussain ( sorry Idi Amin, who could have been the Chief Guest, but he is no more), as the Chief Guest.

The 21st Century is about New Frontiers ! There is an Economic Orchestra in the Offing across the World probably much larger than ever witnessed before, since the heralding of the Industrial Revolution !

We are set to participate with matching vigour in tandem and on equal footing with every economy / country / nation.

Cheers to the new ties that we foster and build in the new era !

Dr. Awwa's Respect for India
by J.N.Mahanty on Jan 27, 2006 08:18 PM  Permalink

Dr.Awwad says that India enjoys a respectable positon in Arab minds.
Whilst this is a welcome statement, this only remains in letters ( for the purpose of writing an article)and not in spirits.
As an example, Saudi Arab has a very discriminating Law on payment of Blood Money. Under this Law, the compensation for a Muslim life is SR.100,000/ while the compensation for a Hindu( India's 80% population are Hindus) life is only SR.6,666/-. Is this the sign of Respect?

Hindus are denied the rights to worship in his kingdom.
There are about two million Indian Expatriates working in the Kingdom. Most of them are workers working in World's most hostile climatic conditions, with a monthly wage of Rs.7000 to Rs.8000/ i.e a meagre USD 150 to 175/ per month, which is abt USD.2000/ per annum, while Saudi Arab boasts of having one of the World's highest per capita incomes of about USD.40,000/- Is this the sign of respect to Human Being? This is the same story in other Gulf Arab Countries.
Can they not raise the Wages to a respectable international standard?

Rediff ( if they are patriotic enough) may please
forward this Msg to Dr. Awwad for his action and confirmation.

Indian view
by Kartik Ramaswamy on Jan 25, 2006 10:36 PM  Permalink

India is not the second most populous muslim nation in the world.Pakistan has overtaken india as the second most populous muslim nation in the world behind indonesia based on current census. The article assumes the Saudi view of perceiving india as a major power for the future which is really warming but why do have to come to aid of the people who haven't come to our aid.Do we owe arab world or are we being really nice? India should make itself self reliant on energy or satisfy its energy needs from countries like Russia,Venezuela,Mexico, etc. We don't need saudis as we have to remmember that it's the same saudis who supported terrorism in Kashmir and are still playing the muslim brotherhood in the valley.India for all its economic power,Nuclear status needs to have good relations with China,Japan,US and EU.
