Almost 60 years on, still the Congress can't look beyond the Gandhi dynasty for a leadership. What's most disgusting is that every Congress leader insists that it's not that way! Pictures are still livid in my memory of senior Congress leaders queuing in to convince Sonia to take on the helm of the party few years ago. Also the several dharnas at Sonia's doorstep and members going on hunger strike and threatening of committing suicide if Sonia doesn't take on the leadership and save the party from falling apart! Little can be said about the integrity and respect of a party that can't decide on a capable independent leader, away from a hereditary dynasty tag. Makes me sick..........
Rahul Gandhi may definately have the legacy of Gandhi-Nehru clan as he was born with it but as for leadership qualities...that lies to be tested. What India needs today is a leader with a vision who can take India forward with all the technological revolution thats happening in the urban sector. We need somebody who can harness the tremendous potential and mould it to the countrys advantage and prevent the brain drain to the west. For that we need as experienced visionary and if Rahul can do this is still a million dollar question. We need to get out of the mindset that only the nehru clan are fit to govern the country as there are thousands of individuals with more potentail available and we need to breed leaders not politicians with petty mindsets looking after their own interests. There needs to be accountability and answerability for the actions of politicians after al they are there because of tax payers money. Awake oh countrymen from your indifferent stupor and demand your rights from our leaders.
I am unable to understand, why congress, which the the largest party in democratic India, doesn't want democrasy in their party. Why they are creating a party of sycophants...
It is sad to hear that many of the Senior Congress Leaders are getting sidelined only for bringing the Youngster Rahul in to the forefront.
I hope this will be a bad step for an old party like congress.
Congress should think about what importance they are giving to senior talented experienced congress leaders as compared with the Gandhi family members.
Yes, Its the high time that Mr. Rahul should step in firmly. He should surely make himself and position himself as the President of Congress. To save the partly Rahul should surely step-in actively! A well-educated, broad minded person is what country expecting and we are sure that he will take up the challenges!
The only development that had taken place in India was during teh period of Narasimharao Govt.( first non gandhi family rule lasting for fice years) I do not understand why the so called congress men are more worried about rahul comming to lead them.
are they short of any good leader in congress. Why this idol worship in congress. When Nehru diedit was Indira, next Rajiv, next Sonia, Next Rahul if nobody is avaialble they will elect the dog of ganhi family to lead them. really a funny people

No i think being the son of national party leader is not the eligibility of getting a important position in party.He should first work like common party worker to gain experience.
The demand to appoint mr. Rahul Gandhi as congress general secretary is purely based on the politics of getting limelight in party and to please party president by raising the demand to do so.
