My appreciation to Mr.Shaktinath Chaudhury, an NRI delegate from America for raising voice against communal forces. We know from the History what Nazis did for the Minorities. Being passiv is like nodding to communal forces. The act of Godhra, its supporters and like minded people should be criticised and downed at every front. I really wonder how Narendra Modhi is still the Chief Minister
It is unfortunate that we indians behave differently in India and abroad. I thought it is true only for those of us who visit for a short time. It seems NRIs have also not learnt to behave from longer stay abraod. It is sad.Whome do we look forward to learn for change?
It is well known that the award to Dr. Sudhir Parikh was a sore to the Congress party. The list of the awardees reflect those who hold high positions in their respective countries, and when Dr. Parikh's name appeared a sudden rush to associate him the Mr. Narendra Modi of BJP began. It appeared from the press reports that he may eventually not receive one, because of internal politics of India. Those of us who know the characteristics of Indian politics believe that at present anything not in favor of the Congress party raises eyebrows. It is a matter of shame that another Indian American behaves like a teenager and in an uncouth manner at the ceremony. There is no doubt that PBD will end in sour note, as this is another forum for Indians around the world to show their wealth and political clout.
The very fact that Dr.Parikh has been chosen for the award in the rule of UPA Govt. shows that selectors were impartial in selecting him but the ruckus created by some of the delegates shows that the forces of polically alied ones are there to create trouble. We expected that atleast the NRIs are above politics but it has proved on the contrary.
Whatever be the credential of Dr. Parikh, it's preposterous to launch such attack when the Honorable President is conferring such award and deeply condemn such behavior. In a free society like ours, there are other means to show your displeasure and prove your point.I believe the Police has done the right thing by removing him from the auditorium.
Police done teh right thing, how come Mr.Choudary shouts ina meeting presided by non other than President Of India? He not only insulted indian government but laso the state government! He must be remanded and must be prosecuted by the police and best punishment would be banning his entry into India for rest of his life!! He deserves that!!
If he had any reservations against the award ceremony let him vent his anger outside and there is always a proper way to do that! He behaved very cheaply and lacked respect to nation!
