Ruckus at NRI meet
by senthil Arumugham on Jan 10, 2006 09:44 AM  Permalink

Dr. Parikh need not worry. Who is Chaudhury. May he was made to talk like that by some quarters just to spoil the image of great Modi. Gothra incident has nothing to do with this award ceremony.

There were so many incidents took place like this. In Tamil Nadu many land lords were brutally killed in a villabe called Keezh Venmani in Tanjore Dist. by Communists. The Dravida Kazhagam activists cut sacred threads and tufts of Brahmins in Tanjore. Many killed in Coimbatore bomb blast. What happened to all these politicians then.

Modi has proved himself great time and again. There are lots of supporters to Dr. Parekh in USA.

Ruckus at NRI meet

It is too immature on the part of Mr Chaudhury to disrupt the Award Ceremony when the President is giving away the Prestigious Awards. It is not the Platform to Protest.Could have been done by way writing to the President later on. Award is an award whether he is a Modi supporter or Manmohan's or Sonia's supporter or Jyoti Basu's supporter. As Shri Narayana Reddy pointed out, the Indians in USA should stop infighting , curb jealousy and have the dignity to conduct themselves. They need to project our Image but not indulge in the Petty politics and develope hatred to each other.

Shame on Choudhary

Shame on Choudhary!! He just exposed his cheap mentality disturbing a peaceful summit. Jealousy at the cost of nation\'s pride is awful!! If so much concerned for human rights go to France, Iraq, Pakistan and shout!!

Freedom of expression
by Ziggi on Jan 10, 2006 04:58 AM  Permalink

By arresting Mr. Shaktinath Choudhary for merely verbalizing his views shows how our government and bureaucracy views dissent besides their willingness to shower accolades on any and everyone with a fat purse irrespective of his/her moral standpoint and ethical views. How is this behaviour any different from nazi Germany's where anti-semite businessmen, capitalist and intellectuals were given red carpet welcome for increasing economic and intellectual prosperity of the Third Reich besides creating novel pathways to wipe millions of Jews?

shameful

Mr. Chaudhary should be ashamed of himself.I wonder if he would behave like this if an award nominee was Prince Charles ??probably he would garland him!!!
Everybody has a personal right to do what he believes in and Mr. Parikh is no exception.Who is Mr. Chaudhary to decide the worthiness of Mr. parikh anyway?

Left-wing Spoilers
by sanman on Jan 10, 2006 03:42 AM  Permalink

It was absolutely right that this unruly Left-wing loudmouth was ejected. He had no right to be heckling and disrupting an awards ceremony. If you go to a Hillary Clinton fundraiser and start heckling her, you'll be ejected so fast your head will spin. It's absolutely wrong for anyone to support the heckler by criticizing the police action.

Ruckus at NRI Meet
by J.N.Mahanty on Jan 10, 2006 12:47 AM  Permalink

Chaudhury and Company who disrupted the Meet while the Prez was distributing the Prizes should be put behind the bars. It is not clear whether they are educated enough to understand that a civilised and patriotic citizen does not commit such act of misconduct and disrupt an august Convention being presided by the President of India.
I think these are the people who are responsible for projecting Indians abroad in a bad light.
After all Dr. Parikh is an outstanding physician and deserves the award. Inviting Mr. Modi, the Chief Minister of Gujerat to USA, is not a crime. Indeed Modi has proved beyond doubts that he is the best Chief Minister in the Country and the statistics of his State speak out, although he is a man of a few words. Indeed, other Chief Ministers in the country have plenty of lessons to learn from Modi.
As such there is nothing wrong in inviting the most progressive CM to USA. On the other hand it is the handiwork of pseudo-secular gang and the MEDIA who are allout to project Modi in bad lights.
It is no doubt that the culprits behind the Godhra Carnage in which 59 Hindus were burnt alive ( this is almost like Jaliwanawalabag Carnage) should be punished.

Pro Hindu a bad thing??????
by Ritu on Jan 09, 2006 11:41 PM  Permalink

So now it is a crime to be pro-Hindu but what about pro-Islam or pro-Chritianity or pro-anything?

Why is it bad for a Hindu to be supportive of Hindus. The doctor did not kill anyone and i'm sure he didnot support it either.

It seems it is not a very good thing to be a Hindu in India and it is worse when you are vocal about it.
