comment on phone tapping of Mr. Amar Singh
by Abhay Pandey on Jan 17, 2006 03:30 PM  Permalink

The phone tapping case of Mr Amar Singh has made the citizens of this democratic feel that they are no longer safe from the deadly shackels of the crime world uprooted in this country. When such a person's phone can be tapped, it's unnecessary to talk about common man.I think the Delhi police is correct in it's view that some frivolous hand is behind it.Amar Singh and the samajwadi party is correct in it's decision to fight against this very deadly activity which has just now evolved.

Who is this Amar Singh ?
by neo on Jan 17, 2006 01:29 PM  Permalink

Who is this crappy little guy? What the hell is he so scared about anyways? Is he linked up with LeT or is he running a racket? Or is he scared of his wife?

Of course tapping by any party is a gross violation of freedom, but then, it is fun to see these sick politicians fight amongst themselves. The commoner comes to know a lot from these fights. Let them point out each others misdeeds in public so that we can decry them.

Until this entire episode took place, no one knew that phones were being tapped illegally AND mr. chottu is talking something so bad on phones that he is shit scared...

Stings are more popular than sitcoms these days...

Among those who are shamelessly anti-Congress, this Shenoy is next only to George Fernandes.

"outrageous" is the expression I am filld with on this issue. it calls for condemnation from all quarters and awareness call to all citizens that these are the times when we are moving ahead in the worldly affairs but being treated like citizens of defunct communist regimes in our own home nation by a lady who calls herself one of us.

If Soni was frivolous, TVR is no less
by Sachin on Jan 17, 2006 12:16 PM  Permalink

I am surprised by the article, coming from Mr. Shenoy who otherwise writes some scholarly articles. What point is he trying prove by accusing or even hinting at Congress or its leaders. I doubt if anyone would ever pay crores to tap phones of somebody like Amarsingh, who is as page 3 item as Mallika Sherawat or others of her ilk. He is in news come what may, like accusing people of blocking TV access to news of somebodies' jaundice or flu or constipation and what not. So what would have one got by tapping his phones, and then why not Mulayam Singh, his party boss?
And then Mr. Shenoy draws parallels between phone tapping in US with India. By that corollary we should say India is Amar and Amar is India!! (please not that so far such claims from others have not been substantiated and Amar Singh's is only "serious case"). America through its Patriotic bills and other acts, is routinely violating rights of its own people now and for other people they were never supposed to have them anyway.

And lastly, if we try to mix personal prejudices or ideologies with articles like this, rediff.com would be reduced to a just another blog site, from a good read it is currently is.

Dear TVR -pl look at it in open mind- Pl see Mr Blair how he is making people representative more responsible
by Dilip Kumar Patnaik on Jan 17, 2006 12:11 PM  Permalink

Dear TVR

Please look it in open mind and not the way TVR look the world. Mr Blair made a point people representative should be more responsible, Why some body is fearing so much when they are into public service. Person like Amar Singh are doing more self service than public hence blaming congress advantage in UP and fearing may congress work hamper their personal prospect.

If we want transperencies we have to follow Mr Blair.............that why they are more democractic
