Wrong Comment regarding one statement: Reporters be careful
by Sujith Neithilath on Jan 04, 2006 06:25 PM  Permalink

This is a message to the reporters. Please make sure what ever you are posting to page is correct. For an instance Sabarimala (Lord Ayyappa's holy place) is opened for all castes, creeds and religion. It is famous for Vavar (Lord Ayyappa's friend) who's successor is still there at Sannidanam (Place where the Ayyappa's idol resides at Sabarimala). All the devotees to Ayyappa to prays Vavar and get prasad from Muslim Pandit. But Please see the rediff statement. "Azhvanchery Raman Namboodiri, a Hindu reformist, says it is not just the Guruvayoor temple where no-entry boards have been posted for people of other religions. Temples at Sabarimala, Kadampuzha, Chottanikkara and Vaikkom in Kerala also do not allow devotees of other religions to worship". Here the name of Sabarimala should have to be avoid atleast.

High time

This restriction seems to be politically motivated, introduced after the invasions on India began, to protect the temples. For example, not wanting to reveal the wealth inside the temples to non Indians (who were mostly Hindus, Jains and Buddhists). I do not believe there was religious discrimination, especially in the all-embracing Hindu culture.

It probably is time to look into the reasons why this practice came into being and decide whether it makes sense to keep it alive.

by Surajit Banerjee on Jan 04, 2006 06:20 PM  Permalink

The temple administration should permit entry of all sects and religions in the sanctum sanctorum of the temple because God is one and supreme.

Tradition and Sanctity ... Ha Ha
by Naveen on Jan 04, 2006 06:19 PM  Permalink

Temple authorities should note that any non-hindu person who wishes to enter any temple on the earth (with an intention of darshan) is a hindu. That kind of person can no more claim that he/she belongs to a religion that prohibits idol worship. Hence, such persons should be welcomed into the temple with open arms and also rewarded for their courage because they have knowingly selected never-ending fire as their destination, after their death.

Banning non-Hindus from entering the shrine.Who are u to bann? When god himsefl can not distingiush the people. We are living in 21 st centuary.Such discrimination is the clear voiletion of human rights.Religion is ment for the people not for particular peopel. If such bans comes then it would be difficult to rely on religion.Humanity, self respect is more then any religion. It is the time to make relgion with humanistic values.other wise the younger people like me will fail to recognise any religion.

Argument will never support faith. The openion will never match with each other. Hence it is better to go on with Principles. sometimes or manytimes it reveals that god is Principle
