Better late than never as the saying goes-I wish the indian politicians instead of making sure they had their positions of power, consider the safety of the people as their responsibility.I guess to do that we need people who think of their country and not just themselves. It would be better if they left these issues to the Indian Army and give it a free hand so that at this late hour we might still save the nation.

My opinion is in conformity with the arguement that Bangladesh is currently a source of terrorism.
Arguably, as a big neighbour India should continue facilitating streamling Import/Export proceedures through SAFTA. However, India should continue to strongly raise this issue of issue with Bangladesh at various levels.

As regards to the Bangladeshi threat, just refer to the column of Vir Sanghvi in Hinustan Times on January 1, 2006. It is a perfect example of the hue and cry of 'secularists' on the 'perceived' and 'magnified' threat posed by 'poor' migrants

I quite agree with the notion that most of the infilteration is occuring through Bangladesh and not J&k border because the security is high there and it attracts a lot of attention but on the other hand Bangladeshis cross the border like wind flowing from east and we have got some clues recently that ISI n pak army are also training people in their country who cross the border frm Bangladesh and not from J&K to spread terror.

Enemy within

You are right the enemy within is our biggest threat, and not only the poor immigrants, but poor everyone who is poor and originally from India. But we will be under a grand illusion to think the assasination of Prof.Puri will be a wake up call at all.If that were to be so, then after Mrs.Indira Gandhis' gunning down, Rajiv Gandhi should not have died. The problem with Indian(and that includes my own)mindset is that we pass on everything to fate.Just speak to some of the Astrologers, and ofcourse the politicians who run to get the blessings of some sage or the other at the drop of a hat,and you WILL hear about how the "moon was in the seventh house and jupiter aligns with mars",or something like that, and hence the death!!!And Osama Bin laden knows that, and the Security agencies in INDIA also believes in that.So till such time the politicians, security forces et al,shed this mindset, and tackle the terrorist problem mercilessly, without let or hindrance,India will be vulnerable. And for heavens sake,if politicians of every hue and color are given the privilege of police "bandobast" at their beck and call, let similar services be given to the likes of Prof Puri atleast, without asking.
