I think people are going crazy, one should put this money for the development of the needy rather setting up a reward for killing someone. MF Hussain has done a mistake for which he has apologised and one should accept the apology and move ahead. I am a Hindu, but I do not believe in such people who are acting as somewhat protector for religions. Infact thes people should be punsihed and questioned from where are they getting such funds!!! Lets think for the development of the country rather than such petty matters.
what lawlessness?? it's a shame! are we a civilized society or barbarians like talibans... it is understandable that in the name of 'freedom of expression' people like mf hussain or the danish cartoonist or the other european companies mentioned are crossing the limits & hurting peoples sentiments but that does not mean that the we Indians regarded for our tolarence & forgiving are openly violating the democratic value system we have in place? people are allowed to make such statements?? what is the legislation doing (nyway they are the ones doing it)looks like even in this case the supreme court will have to interfere?
I must say I am writing this message as soon as I saw the news article about a Hindu fanatic declaring an award on the head of celebrated painter MF Hussain. Although the sensibilities and sensitivities of people who deliberately or unknowingly 'desecrate' religious symbols or figures can be condemned by combating ideas with ideas, a Hindu 'Fatwa' crying for the head of the painter reeks of barbarism and should not be tolerated by any sane Hindu. I dont know how much Hinduism or India will be hurt by nude paintings of Bharatmata or any other god or goddess, but I am sure that it will not be the religion it is known and respected for if it is allowed to be hijacked by these fundamentalists.
