What's Indian State's fault
by mohammad sarfaraz khan on Feb 22, 2006 02:41 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

A prejudice and out of context article. Right thinking people never grab the opportunity to spit venom. emotional fall out is not confined to a particular community. World history is the mirror where you can see the most devasting affects of emotional steps by some so called most civilised people of the world. Can you draw a parrallel to "Tatari(Mongol)invasion", Nazi holocaust, the devastation of WW I & II and so on ? And what about European loots of world resources and building their civilization on the pool of blood. Would the writer appreciate the incident of 14th December and the Gujrat holocaust? Does he appreciates the fascist mentality to destroy and depress his co-nationals in a very planned way. All such acts have been bleeding the mother nation. If Islam would have been religion of terrorists and insane people, it would not have ruled over world for 1400 years. You have seen the demise of 'man-made ism' in a very short period. If the writer has really pain for humane race, he should keep his eyes open to 'Holocaust like situation' being created by west. Freedom comes with responsibilities. Freedom without responsibility is devasting. Be aware of it !!!

Very well expounded

Your writeup is really very good. The way the islamic community is moving ahead leaves me confounded. Seems like its become a prey to its own leaders, and being blinded by irrational beliefs and dogmas, have vowed not to let the light of this world enter their lives.
Clearly, how can an entire mass of faith be endagered by someone's mischeif beats me. Even for a mere mortal like me, if someone comes up with a stupid or funny cartoon, will my existence be in question? Need I vehemently say NO?
This together with the Jessica Lal case has disturbed me. I think unless the birds in the Indian political firmamment are culled, India will only go downwards. And we helpless beings will be left to rue over our collective destiny as Indians.

Media making an issue
by ANIL RAJAN on Feb 22, 2006 01:47 PM  Permalink

I think media is making this more an issue rather than understanding the real problem . Because the new trends like 'breaking news',24 hour concept ,media is making a mockery of almost all issues and non-issue.

What is Indian State's Fault/
by S.Ramaswamy on Feb 22, 2006 12:54 PM  Permalink

The majority is right to feel bad at the pampering of minorities.
The Govt, silent when Hindu dieties were rubbished,is quick to react on the cartoon issue. The Lok Sabha condemned the foreign cartoon but was mum against MF Hussain's sacrillege against the Hindu Goddess right in India. Not a word from the 'secularists'or the BJP.Are Hussain or Muslims above law?
The vandalism in the cartoon controversy made the govt to act. What signal did it send? Organise similar vandalism against MF Hussain to get Govt's attention? Denigrating Hindu deities by a Muslim, has lethal incendiary potential.Doesn't the govt know it?And why has the freedom of artistic expression claimed for him not been used by him to show the Prophet likewise? Has any one from the Muslim community spoken against Hussain,a habitual offender?
Ignoring the sensitivities of the majority will help consolidate their votes leading to a backlash.Calculations of dividable Hindu vote bank will collapse.
Pandering to the fundamentalism of Muslims will lead to Hindu backlash cutting across the party line, consuming every one of the present minority appeasers, blighting their political career for ever.
