India's fault in cartoon row
by Nandini on Feb 22, 2006 04:48 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Very well spoken. I expected India to at the least say "We condemn the cartoons, and we also condemn the violence protesting them"

This is Inhuman
by Nidhi on Feb 22, 2006 03:47 PM  Permalink

What are we trying to prove by these violent acts? I agree with Sai...just a question to the "BIG MOUTH" politician of SP...if you were so rich to announce 51 crores for the death of a person, why couldnt you help the Tsunami victims in South India...the earthquake victims in Kashmir...the 26/7 victims of Mumbai??? Why??? As a responsible citizen it is better for you to shut your mouth and do something constructive. People have elected you to work and not "SCREAM" on the mikes to gain "CHEAP POPULARITY".
If we are responsible and matured citizens of "NON-VIOLENT INDIA" why are we harrassing fellow Indians by this protest? Why can't we have non-violent satyagrah to show our concern? Can we bring back the lives of the people who died in Libya, Nigeria, Pakistan and all over the world over this controversy? Who is responsible for this? Lets get up and realise that we have better way to raise our concerns.

A beautifully written article, with a scar though......
by Shahrukh on Feb 22, 2006 03:36 PM  Permalink

I completely agree with the article in all it says. Including the hullabaloo and the protests over the cartoons. Personally i think it doesnt matter to anyone in the wisdom that we have cultivated in this modern age.
Just a small point though was the comparison of the Hindu and Muslim reactions to similar incidents neccessary? If yes then i wish we would have looked a little closer home, where even passing references to religious icons can create riots

Ignorence that rules!
by harikumar on Feb 22, 2006 03:19 PM  Permalink

Dear Mr.Sai,
Appreciate your views and concerns as a whole, sir.
Simply hoping for a Redeemer to save the Universe is foolishness,I believe.Educated and experienced men And Wimen (Judiciary experts, scientists, literary masters, prominent social workers, economist, media experts, religious experts etc..)of the world over must put their views very cordially and systamatically on this matter and try to eradicate the petty ignorence of the people the world over and I hope something positive and constructive will emerge.
But still, the stupid politicians and Industrial Giants or the Drug/weapon Mafias will jeoparadise any efforts towards this.
No wonder, at least we can satisfy our humanitarian thoughts into practice and then let us dream or wait for the real Redeemer to come!
hari.

Article from Sai
by Kalyan Deb on Feb 22, 2006 02:49 PM  Permalink

Here are a few more...

Stage-2

1. And traveled far and away only to fall apart

Christianity, Islam and Judaism
All sprang out from the same source
Harmoniously; only at different ages
And traveled far and away only to fall apart
Seeking supremacy by men who preached
What the religion never proclaimed.

2. Embracing any while you (are born and) live away

Trace back and you would find
Language, culture and religion
Are bound to the places of their origin
Embracing any while you (are born and) live away
Makes you an alien in your own place of stay
Even when you are in your homeland.

3. Presently abandon peaceful means

Human culture and religion
That grew out of violence and
Pursued the path of invasion
Presently abandon peaceful means
Over the pretext of salvation and
Defying endeavor to undo stagnation.

Wonderful article from Sai
by Kalyan Deb on Feb 22, 2006 02:46 PM  Permalink

A very well-writen article... here are a few six-liners from me to show him my solidarity...

Stage-1

1. Religion is all that but

A devoted fidelity
A belief in powers unseen
Pursuing holy rites
Religion is all that but
Never a retreat with blind faith
That eludes the path not illumes.

2. Dissent with others and puritans would waste away

Keep in religion at home
Inside your own heart
Bound only by your own belief
Dissent with others and puritans would waste away
Inequality causes and concatenates all trouble
Religion only a commodious veil.

3. You make a paradox in disgrace

You equate nation with your religion
Denying others equal rights
Crown your religion with tolerance
You make a paradox in disgrace
Fear not from others when
You have faith in your own.

4. A way of life for its followers

Hinduvta is a culture as ancient as mankind
With origin obscured, hailed as a religion
Only with others in comparison
A way of life for its followers
Believing in every other belief
That followed embracing its virgin edict.

Saisuresh's fear.
by Sam on Feb 22, 2006 02:45 PM  Permalink

The author wishes the government to have steel while he displays all signs of being a mudpot. The article is supposed to be about Protests vs. Danish cartoons, and more than 50% material is about something else. He is making sure he won't incur anyone's wrath.

The truth is as clear as daylight. If you are afraid about something, write an article about your fear, not about protests.
