This is outrageously disgusting to see that people can order the death of someone who was only exercising his right to speak and express his thoughts. And muslims wonder why the whole world has a bad take on Islam?? Muslims wonder why people all over think that Islam is synonymous with terrorism??? Well, if in doubt, read this article!! So if the cartoonist should be put to death for expressing his thoughts, then shouldnt the cleric who ordered his death be dealt with in the same way?? All muslims insist that islam is not about being a terrorist or practicing terrorism. Well, how about this guy who can so easily pass a verdict on whether someone whould live or die!! What gives him that right?? Whatever happened to "Freedom of speech??" If at all islam is, today, is leaning in its practice more towards terrorism, then the sole cause of that is lack of education. Grow up, get educated and focus on issues that are more important towards your development as a human being. Dont go chasing someone in some other part of the world for doing or saying something that, trust me, will never affect any of you muslims in anyway. And dont give me that nonsense "Oh! it has hurt our feelings!"
I dont understand why we Muslims should make this cartoon problem such a big issue by way of violence and fatwas and cash awards. What we should do is lead peaceful protest and show the world that we are quite mature in handling these things.
Islam is not a religion which can be destroyed by one cartoon or a Salman Rushdie book. We are giving undue importance for nothing especially for people who are very average.
We should conduct seminars and inititate discussions to show the people from other religions who is our Prophet and the simple life our Prophet lived and the justice shown to downtrodden. Islam has so much great values which cannot be wiped away by a cartoon or a book. Violence is one thing Islam do not approve.
We Muslims should show better maturity and the learned Scholars and mature Muslim politicians should take the lead in showing the world we can handle any situation with maturity.
Do we have any right to issue Fatwas and who is authorised to issue Fatwas in India, I am not aware, maybe somebody can advise me.
