personally i think the authorities must have allowed only those chicken and eggs to be sold in the market which might not have been infected by bird flu . but i will be a little careful that i will not eat chicken in outside eateries and if it is absolutely necessary then i will do so only in good reliable restaurants
Prevention is better than cure, assuming cure exists, and is available promptly and irrespective of the afflicted\\\\\\\'s circumstances. On the other hand, prevention may involve foregoing the fun and pleasures of violating wisdom, whether conventional or scientifically proven and propagated from all rooftops. So, my dear fellowmen, if you cannot respect wisdom, you should respect your own naked eye abilities to see stark realities in their crude manifestation. Incidentally, I only advise against eating possibly SARS-infected poultry, and I do not need this advice for myself (for the obvious reason I do not eat any flesh, poultry\\\\\\\'s or animal\\\\\\\'s, or should I say, human! Of course I get an occasional disease, despite all human care on my own part, from other causes different than eating virus-affected meat or chicken. If I had been a poultry gourmet, I would have cut out one big reason for disease when chickens are inflicted and can kill the eater.)
It is a fact that many places are not infected by the virus , so categorically we cannot impose blanket ban on chiken consumption in India. Place which is safe and are not supplied chicken from infected places, then one can think of having it.
The problem is not if it is safe to eat chicken or no. The problem is: Is it moral to kill the animals? Who gave the right to the farmers to kill? India has a great tradition related to vegetarian food. Why don't we follow the wisdom of the past, when there were not chicken flu or mad cows? Love Valentino-Alice Project
Tens of thousands of birds have been culled, Thousands more have perished. There is such an alarm in the country about bird flu and here are our health officials coming on tv channels to show to the scared people how they enjoy eating chicken. I mean this is the height of irresponsibilty and callous approach the Government can exhibit. The Parliament canteen stops serving chickens, people are running for cover under the thraet of the bird flu and our officials want millions of people to eat chicken and embrace the dreaded disease. What do they want to prove. Is this nationalism or what to put the lives of your citizens in jeopardy?
Bird Flu in India is nothing but media hype. Death of birds is not because of deadly virus, they r so many other reason like.... Ranikhet, it is comman at this time of the year.
