I always had this fear that in India one of the main reasons for increase in prevalence of HIV and AIDS is due to incorrect diagnosis. The blame has to go to government (state & central),the medical fraternity (pathologists/blood bank incharge/medical lab technicians and administrators),diagnostic kits manufacturers and importers.
In the pretext of buying kits which are ONLY ECONOMICAL,which do not give accurate diagnosis, we are risking the lives of all our Indians, and spreading HIV/AIDS as the case in MP.
At least now govt. should insist on promoting high quality test kits and make each and every individual from top to bottom accountable for such incorrect results.
Let me ask all the concerned people a question, How confident are you to accept a blood transfusion from a blood bag which has been reported HIV free by all the blood banks in India?
