What amazing Dhimmitude!!

It is truly shocking for an acting chief justice of Pakistan from the minority community to say that the law there treats everyone as the same, which is not the case. A case in point is the recent revelations by media of the long standing forcible abductions, conversion and rape (apparent 'love' marriage with a Muslim neighbour ) of Hindu girls especially in Sindh province. If he as a Pakistani citizen doesn't mention it; it becomes an important question for the interviewer - Mr Singh to enquire about the same and the role of the Pakistani judiciary in curbing the menace and punishing those who indulge in this horrendous systematic practice which is another form of ethnic cleansing.

The Indian media shamelessly fielded questions and denounced the country's ruling coalition in international fora in India & abroad(even with Pakistani media personnel and 'human rights activists') for the post-Godhra Gujarat riots of 2002. If we did have such an 'independent' media as it were; why does it shy...nay , ignore questions on Hindus, Sikhs and Buddhists being illtreated in Pakistan and Bangladesh; more recently Malaysia (Moorthy conversion case) ?

Shame on us Indians....what else?

There is no Protection for Minorities in Pakistan
by J.N.Mahanty on Feb 17, 2006 06:40 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Bhagwan Das said that Law in Pakistan provides equal treatment and equal protection to all citizens, irrespective of religion.

I think, his statement may be true only in words, and not in reality.

It may be noted that after Partition, there were about 8% Hindus in Pakistan while today the Hindus constitute hardly 2 % of the total population of Pakistan. Perhaps this drastic reduction is the direct result of \\\"Equal treatment and equal protection\\\" being provided by Pakistan.
