US President GWB followed his conscience. Some people were offended, better they should pity his ignorance. Bush could learn a thing or two from Gandhi, as could we all.
"To take offense is as bad as giving offense." unknown
"An eye for an eye makes the whole world blind." Mohandas Gandhi
Bush's refusal to visit Rajghat violates the separation of Church and State and is unconstitutional, perhaps even impeachable. Rajghat is not a Hindu site - Hindus do not erect memorials. It is a national monument. For the Church to dictate an action of the US head of state is clearly unconstitutional. If Bush does not want to visit Rajghat, that's fine, as long as he resigns first. Alternatively, not connect his refusal with religion.
When will indians grow up.Why the hell should we feel insulted if a monarch of a theocratic tribal kingdom refuses to visit gandhiji's shrine.Gandhiji doesnt require reespect from such unscruplous fundamentalist gasbag such a king of saudi.Gandhiji has already been immortalised in the minds of indians and also has been elected as the greatest leader of 21st century. One more thing , our government and muncipality officials require far harsher admonishments because its they never clean it.Gandhiji has been converted to a mere peice of art in official buildings and rounds.
Come on Guys, grow up !! Mr.M.K.Gandhi is just a father of nation "FORCED" on us, he is no one to the King from Saudi. You cannot force a Guest to your own wishws, in your own house. He will do whats better in his judgement. But first things first, can anyone tell me how Mr.M.K.Gandhi become our collective "Father" ?
If bush doesnt visit gandhi samadhi or if saudi king doesnt visit gandhi samadhi , it doesnt mean the mahatma is being insulted , if they dont visit it , are we loosing anything?
