What an idiotic ceremony to have. People still starve in this country and these people will pour honey, milk, curds and what not over a stone statue. This is the same community that feeds grains to kabootars and adds kankads in the grain for human consumption
I don't understand what is this so called POOJA for a naked statue of a man.......How can so many people b so foolish that for a ordinary king who realised that the worldly pleasures r nothing...who spared his brothers life and left to forest like a saint.....I do appreciate that he was a good person but how copuld he b a god???? and more these people don't hav any respect for their god who not only making him stand nude and also themselves standing nude infront of him.....this supposed to be POOJA is nothing different from a Obscene/cabret party hosted in the west......
I have a genuine doubt. If I remember my high school lessons, i think Jainism is against worship of any statues and so is budhism. But on the contrary, some of the tallest statues in the world are those of Jain saints and of Budha. Is it that my understanding is poor or is it really a contradiction that we see? Can somebody please throw some light?
