This excerpt that has been published here, does indicate how good the book is gonna be.

I really have a concern for the ppl working with call centers, the odd timings, they need to follow etc., Im seeing my friend, who is working with a BPO start his day in distress when i end it in joy and end his day unwillingly , when i start it in full swing !!!!

These ppl somehow get seperated from the rest of the society due to their and i feel, we should not let that happen. Every job is difficult, and solving someones trouble is much more difficult. That is the job of a CSR.

Books, like this.. I guess, would change the way the society looks @ CSRs.

One Night @ Call Centre: Excerpt
by ANUP on Feb 09, 2006 10:55 AM  Permalink

I was without a job for a year. Then I joined a Call center. I often heard taunts from friends & relatives and of course did not get even a cm of respect for the gruelling 11 hour job. I have quit the job & joined another firm as a software engineer for half the previous salary. I am really happy and satisfied, for the moment.
Everything Shyam is experiencing is TRUE!
That's the way the world is! I would definitely like to go through the book.

one night @ call center

I like the way the story is told, very similar to the style that all authors who want to show a facet of India adhere to usually is there.

But I cannot accept that this book from which the excerpt is, was written by the guy who works at the call center in India. The language/wording is definitely 'American English', so why the claim, I wonder? The story is told exactly the way an immigrant tells about India and what he experiences in India. It is very obvious, I wonder why the facade?

Poor thinking

I cant understand the relevance of this article. I would like to ask the author what he wants to convey by this article.

Profession is profession, it can be anything. One should respect his / her profession. This is the major difference between the US culture and Indian culture.
