Indias vote on Iran
by Shankar on Feb 05, 2006 09:04 PM  Permalink

Very wise decision. India has scored both on moral as well as economic grounds. Iran's having nukes can never be conducive to India or any other non Muslim country. Iran talks hot and cold, is ruled by mullahs and is guided by Islamic interpretations-hardly a politically mature nation. On the other hand, the Indian economy can be turbo charged by American business and technology transfer. The Indian Left knows diddly. Go India !!

Supporting U.S. in Iran issue is a wrong move
by Raghu on Feb 05, 2006 02:28 PM  Permalink

India has recently joined EU, US and other
countries in referring Iran to U.N. Security
Council.

India claims that it has India's supreme
interest in mind while doing this. It does
not look so. It looks like India has U.S.'s
supreme interest in mind when doing this.
And the bargain is for getting the civil nuclear
co-operation from U.S. It's very obvious.
Recently, Rice had openly asked that India should
support U.S. on the Iran issue. Plus, Manishankar
Iyer, who is a strong supporter for the Iran
pipeline project has been removed from the oil
ministry.

So, it does look like India is dancing to U.S.'s
tunes.

U.S. is known historically for backstabbing.
When their job gets done, they won't hesitate
a minute to dump India.

It's obvious that U.S. has agreed for the civil
nuclear co-operation project, just to keep a
check on India nuclear facilities. It's an
indirect way of inspecting, monitoring and
possibly controlling Indian nuclear interests.

By playing this 'Support us in Iran issue and
we will support you in nuclear project' game,
they are achieving two goals, controlling Iran,
and then eventually controlling India.

IAEA refers Iran to UNSC
by Dr.G.S.Shankar on Feb 05, 2006 02:19 PM  Permalink

I think India has matured as a pragmatic state from its baggage of a Idealistic one. Even at that Iran has been making lot of ugly noises and on the verge of becoming a pariah state. It is true US ambassidor has chose wrong vocabulary but that should not come in the way to pave the national interest and the long term relationships. BJP slogan has been congress is a pseudosecular party and it is true but if BJP opposes government move, can it be called pseudonalistic party? BJP should think twice before doing anything strange. Commies will raise hue and cry and if it hurts them , they should seriously consider immigrating to Iran

IAEA referrel of Iran to UNISCO
by K. Ramamurty on Feb 05, 2006 01:47 PM  Permalink

Well done India !!!.

India, had done well on this issue. It is needless for the left parties to clamour about this issue. All opposition parties, should support the ruling party in the interests of the nation. There can be some discussion on these issues.

Our Foreign policy and economic policies should be above party politics and only the national interest should be the prime focus on these issues.

Jai Hind !!

sorry move
by silent.invader on Feb 04, 2006 09:57 PM  Permalink

India, represented by its decision makers, is the most stupid country of the world. India is a country of 1 BN still it doesn't get lead role in international decision making, and then it goes and votes in favour of decision of international players, if not anything else it should have abstained from voting, if not voted against. This would have atleast made the world recognize that there is a country which represents a different interest and is not afraid of speaking it out.
