Praful Bidwai's article
by Dr.G.N.Seetharam on Feb 09, 2006 05:19 AM  Permalink

Sir, Praful Bidwai is an expert on writing garbage. He goes on and on about the need for left wing economic polices. The fact of the matter is that these policies have failed all over the world including the former Soviet Union and China. He goes on endlessly criticising the so called pro american foreign policy. It is beyong Bidwai to understand that in today's world with the unrivalled dominance of hyperpower America any other course would be suicidal. Bidwai must realise that the Soviet Union is no longer there and the space available to powers like India has diminished considerably. We must in national security interests strenthen relations with the United States and Israel. Also, 100000 indians make America their home every year. We must be grateful to the U.S. for this. It is a rare occasion indeed for Praful Bidwai to write logically. I do not understand why Rediff inflicts this out dated guy on us regularly. Dr.G.N.Seetharam Australia

Collapse concerns
by N J Ramesh on Feb 04, 2006 11:29 PM  Permalink

The fragile centre can easily collapse the way it happened in Karnataka, though it may not have the benefit of alternate formation sans dissolution.

In this scenario the success by Left may encourage it to repeat the feat at a larger scale. Defeat of Left would create saner space left of Centre polity as well as chasten the Left. In Bengal, many present day leaders were in Bangla Congress, Congress(U), and other breakaway efforts, others are with TMC. Electoral arithmetic of alliance can tilt the scale decisively as it did in Bihar as well as take it out of lineage straits.

Congress party
by s.k.sharma on Feb 04, 2006 11:38 AM  Permalink

The Congress is not only desperately hoping for a manna from the heavens, it is also bent upon committing harakiri. It's party President and CM are at each other's throats in Delhi with the former hellbent upon dislodging the CM while the latter is determined to ruin the pitch for te Congress in Delhi so that the former is left with no chances at all of succeeding her. Alas, it is the common man which is bearing the brunt while the Congress twiddles it's thumbs as the city is being razed to the ground on the orders of the court which are neither practical nor pragmatic.

Fortunately for the Congress it's chief rival the BJP is equally moribund which is a relief.

who is congress
by sudhir suri on Feb 03, 2006 02:37 PM  Permalink

Can congress men define what is congress. Is it remembering gandhi at some opportune timeor is it wearing the Gandhi cap in the celebrations. Was Indira the Congress . Then what happened to her policies. If you are following the policies of Narsimha rao, then why do you not admit it.Why do you not say that earlier Congressmen were wrong. Why do you not agree that the vote bank politics was key to survval; .
I would like to know what congress stands for.
Let the star performers say what was congress yesterday ,what will it be tommorow.

by Uday Sharma on Feb 03, 2006 01:32 PM  Permalink

Hello!!!!!!!
Praful seems to have woken up and smell the coffee. First time I am reading him writing something which is not against BJP. And, this article makes his pro-left thinking very much appearent.

For the first time, Praful Bidwai has written something sensible. Otherwise one always expects nonsense from him
