Given the Islamic law as far as i know - Saddam hussain deserved what he got in end i.e. life for life. But the issues are different & they cannot be sidelined one-Dictatorship was an internal issue of Iraq & should have been best left to its citizen to find out its solution. Second - Wepons of mass destruction - the ground of waging the war are yet to be discoverd & President Bush & his allies are yet to come-out with a satisfactory answer not only to the world community but also to their own countrymen.
Third - the most important of all - the reason given for Saddam's execution - is killing 148 countrymen. Does the world not know how many innocents belonging to either Iraq or USA + Allies have been killed in the war -a war which was supposed to have comeout with WMD and Saddam hussain, not to mention the financial, emotional and other indirect losses. No sensible person on this earth can conclude or justify the WAR. So where does world stand today!!!! A president responsible for the loss of inumerable life & yet a sitting president vrs A president responsible for 148 lives and hense a death reward.
If saddam has sinned, and is punished by execution, so is Bush responsible for killing thousands in afganistan, and also Iraq. What ever be the purpose of killing, killing is after all killing. The purpos is only subjective. Every ones feels justified in the purpse. So, by the same token, The American president George Bush also should be hanged in the same gallow, to meet the requirements of justice. jagaisan
Very Disappointing news.. If He is to be ececuted then what about Rest Polititians in India and America & rest of the world.. What Bush is trying to gain out of it, False Back patting.. Shame on him... What happened to 9/11, He is failed to capture Osama.. We must consider Saddam's contribution for the development for his nation also... I am completely in favour in punishing him but certainly not this way...
If Bush can punish Saddam for daring him and not allowing his land to use Iraq's petroleum why Saddam was guilty for punishing kurds when he was president of his own country.
long live saddam . we all will die some day but u will always live in all of our heart and soul as the one who fight against all those real dictators all alone .
If Bush can punish Saddam for daring him and not allowing his land to use Iraq's petroleum why Saddam was guilty for punishing kurds when he was president of his own country.

While Bush and Tony Blair are no saints, and perhaps deserve to be hanged as well, Saddam was not a "great man"!!!!!!!
Are you equating him with someone like Nelson mandela????...he was a ruthless monster.
But he should not have been hanged with such indecent haste for practical reasons like the situation in Iraq....in any case by killing him, the people who he has tortured and killed would not come back from the grave....
The great Iraqi Leader gone for heaven. The Breave Soldier Sadam fought for his nation and got the pride death. Sadam hanged for killing 138 people. Now worls has to select a suitable punishment for Tony and Bush who are responsible for killing of thousands of people. Why shouldnt both of them be hanged publically. All the leaders of the world are touts of America they are not men. They are men without manpower because they have surrendered to Bush. Shame, Shame to Manmohan Singh (Indian Primeminister ) and Mr. Advani (Oppo. Leader) for not favouring Sadam who favoured India during American Ban on India after Nuclear Expolsen.
Shame again to India Govt. Shame to Indian Foreign Policy Shame for Indian People to appoint such "Napunsak" Leaders.
Sorry Sadam, The Breave Soldier, We, Indian People can not do anything for you because of our so called leaders
