Is she this important?
by Sandy on Dec 29, 2006 02:23 PM  Permalink

Is Mamata this important to change the face of India that all medical help and attention is kept ready for her? Do the thousands who die without medical aid all across the country matter less? Is there a different price for her than for other Indians? When will the government ever grow up and look at India, their own country, from a macro point of view and encompass every Indian on an equal footing? Is this priority so blinding? Are we really this retarded? Is India just a country for the politicians alone?
Hats off to the brilliant leaders of the nation!!! I simply wish the President had powers like the PM to turn this country around - fat chance!
A parting shot - if the politicians really cared, they would not jsut hear and nod but really listen to the President (who they project to be someone they really respect) and consider it as implementing the wisdom of a person who has the best interests of every Indian at heart. We have a gem of a leader for a President but sadly, none of the so called leaders listen to him or follow him.

Mamata's health deteriorates
by Dr. Tanmay Sarkar on Dec 28, 2006 11:58 PM  Permalink

I have full support for Mamata. It makes nosense to set up a car factory in highly fertile land employing about 1,00,000 peple.
There are enough land available in West Bengal, which are also geographically closer to existing Tata plants at Jamshedpur or Kharagpur.
If one puts him in the position where you are in the danger of loosing your livelihood without any suitable alternative in view one will realize justification of her hunger strike.
Due to large numerical majority in state assembly which unfortunately never reflects true support (30% or more) Chief Minister of WB is acting like a dictator and has forgotten to show respect to opposition.
He must realise that in democracy one has to accommodate the opinion of opposition as they represent a substantial chunk of popular votes.

Mamata Banerjee
by rama bhattacharya on Dec 28, 2006 08:34 PM  Permalink

Ms. Mamata Banerjee is only after her popularity at the cost of farmers and the people of West Bengal. West Bengal needs many industries and invetments to prosper like other industrialised indian states. Left (so called communist govt. ) of West Bengal is or want to encourage invetments from private industries from indian and foreign investors to industrialise the state to bring prosperity for the poor people and farmers, no true leaders should oppose as long as farmers are properly compensated and offered alternate opportunities for their better and long term future. Indian investors should do same aggressively in Bihar, Kashmir, Sikim, Uttaranchal states to enrich their lives. Politicians from all parties shoud meet and discuss this matter seriously.

Its high time of Dirty Politics
by Diwakar Jha on Dec 28, 2006 05:16 PM  Permalink

Mamta didi must understand that she is a national figure. Her all the decisions are against her own identity. She must participate in a dialouge with Mr. Bhattacharjee to short out the issues and show the other state that West Bengal as a state can grow and become no. 1 state in India.

Tamasha Continues.
by SB on Dec 28, 2006 03:25 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

The political "TAMASHA" continues. The irresponsibel act of a single woman, not afraid or ashamed to play dirty politics in an attempt to gain political milage over her rivals, is threatening the peace and progress of a whole state. God knows what her beloved brother's and sister's are going to do in case something happens to her (or even if she pretends that something happend to her and I feel that is exactly what she is trying to do now. we remember how good an actress she is). SHAME Ms. Banerjee.

Writer SB himself/herself should be ashamed of putting such a message in the web. It is just a message of nasty disregard to a politician who is sacrificing her life for the cause of poor masses of West Bengal. Whether Ms. Banerjee is right or wrong in her cause is not beyond dispute as well as difficult to judge but one thing is sure she is also fighting for the hypocritic and opportunistic attidude of the CPM where the party opposes the same issue in other States!Forcibly taking away the land from the poor farmers by CPM Government? Come on, give me a break!!
