DALIT CJ-Shameful news
by Gurpreet on Dec 22, 2006 07:47 PM  Permalink

I am surprised and frustrated to hear DALIT word on rediff. What the hell it has to do with DALIT CJ of Supreme court??
He is senior most judge and now Im completely mad when people divide society lower and higher class based on caste...
Totally wrong and I don't support these caste divided news. You should project his previous record as judge rather than mentioning his caste.
Shame on you, shame on my India. Still in 21st century, we can't leave behind those meaningless issues.
Im wondered can we call us modern developed society and is it appropraite to demand permanent UN post. I think simply NO. Rather first should go back and eradiate all those evils which are hindering development.
Thanks for reading and posting as well.
Gurpreet

It is a great day for India. What would never have happened otherwise, have slowly started happening after several years of independence.

''Dalit'' Should replaced by ''Ambedkarite'' Or ''Buddhist''
by Takshak on Dec 22, 2006 07:43 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

A Man of wisdom and a man who has walked down a long difficult path to achieve this top most position is a symbol and representation of A movement started and guided and showed by Bodhisattva Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar.
He is a true follower of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar and hence we should say that he is an "Ambedkarite" rather than putting him at the clutches of Hindu Narak. He is no more part of that in-equality religion. He is a part of Buddhist Religion and hence he is Buddhist or Ambedkarite and no more Dalit.
Please change the title of the news.
Thanks

Your views seem to be totally flawed.

I just dont think that Justice KGB is a Buddhist or Ambedkarite. Though belonging to the dalit community, the Justice was born in an area which was academically very rich many centuries ago. I believe that except for certain petty tribes still living in forests, most of the dalits in Kerala are either worshipping the same Hindu gods that the upper caste worship or are converted Christians. Ambedkar is hardly a draw in Kerala...so do I feel.

The New CJI
by Senthil Vel on Dec 22, 2006 07:39 PM  Permalink

What is wrong that some one feeling proud that Mr. Balakrishnan will also keep India proud like Dr. Ambedkar and Mr. Narayanan. What is wrong celebrating a Dalit becoming CJI. When M/S Vajbais, Advanis, Gandhis, Amitabs, Tendulkars made India proud, no Dalits complained. They also feel proud. But when somone feeling elated for Dalit becoming CJI, why people are making noise. They have not comeout of caste syndrome in real terms. Happenings in Orissa and Maharastra are proving points to this.

Justice Balakrishnan
by Kumar on Dec 22, 2006 07:37 PM  Permalink

It has been a nightmare for a dalit to reach a higher position like Justice Mr. Balakrishnan. Sir, it is a honour for Dalit community to have you. People must understand that whatever the community may be we're all people of one country.

Why don't we have community or caste problems in East Countries or Europe countries.

Let's all think and act now.

Thanks

New Chief Justice
by Sabu Gangadharan on Dec 22, 2006 07:29 PM  Permalink

What is the specialty in mentioning "first Dalit Chief Justice of India" than mentioning next Chief Justice of India or new Chief Justice of India. Chief Justice of India is Chief Justice of India irrespective of the caste or religion he belongs to. He rose to this position as he is capable and he deserves it, not because he belongs to dalit community.

NEWS FEED : CHIEF JUSTICE OF INDIA.
by KODAKKAL SHIVAPRASAD on Dec 22, 2006 07:23 PM  Permalink

It's better that we think who is suffering from pain and burden but not from caste system, as the present constitution give enough power to the back ward castes like dalits, but they have not bothered to understand the constitution's respect to them and these dalit communities have mis-used their powers in else where that we have not able to tell in public! so that recent press reports told that a sum kof 4600 caste abuse cases was filed in different civil courts and 4060 cases has been dismissed for insufficient records or false complaint filings etc. This shows some one misusing or leading dalit communities to petitious gains for various reasons like politics etc.
