I have to cont in the second messsage due to limited characters
This man was playing games on his cell phone. never bothered to even listen to our request and says "till the flight comes no one can tell you"
He never made an attemt to check on his computer. Now after i spoke to friends in the Airline buisness i came to know details of all boarding passengers are on the database. This person just didnt want to help - then what is the point of sitting in the counter when one cannot even treat the customers in a decent manner. We then told him that how come Lufthansa people have the details and you cant tell us he replies "then go to him. I cant do anything" Subah tak ruk jao woh log a jayenge. With no hopes of getting any help or information from this "gentleman" desperate called up friend is Paris for information from Frankfurt. Finally got to know that they were re-routed to Mumbai and form there to Delhi.
We had an agonising wait the rest of the night till they arrived. But it dosent end there - once we met and the greetings exchanged the person who was assisting my father-in-law with the wheelchair didnt leave us without taking money.
I am really sorry for what you all have gone through and really its inhumane behaviour by the officials and they have to be highly flexible and there should be a way out and it has to be created by the officials themselves so that tourist will be hassle free and I am with you at this hour of inconvenience and sad behaviour caused to you and my special love and hugs to the kids
I read the complete matter and I feel it is ridiculous for an Indian Origin / Indian Migrants / NRI. Such type of act can happen to anyone who is residing out side India. Indian immigration officer should have taken some soften view and could have allowed the parents to get those necessary documents even if after 24 hours of their arrival. Till that time let them to seat at air port in immigration officer\'s office. AT LEAST THAT MUCH AN HUMAN CAN DO EASILY.
I request rediff to llok in tot he matter and colelctively take up the matter with immigration officer.
Being an Indian On behalf of Immigration officer, I am conveying my Sorry to Mr. & Mrs. Viajy and their Son.
Thats natural.... Indians are still slaves to white skin as seen from their behavior through out the world including India... Once in Mumbai CTS train station, 2 Belgians were throwing bottles inside train -- because they got a 4 berth coupe and not get a 2 berth coupe in 1st class in Mumbai-Howrah mail (date 8th Feb, 2001)... the attendant came to request me to give them my coupe as because they are foreigners and whites instead of calling the police...
They allow white skin to carry a lighter in the aeroplane...I saw in my own eyes...
I don't know why media always trys to make a big issue of nothing and never misses an oppertunity to degrade India.
I know for sure Dubai wouldn't give a transit VISA to a Sir Lankan Government official(Press Information Officer Government of SirLanka) on trasit from London to Colombo. (forget getting a VISA if you are from Africa.
I also know of a 70+ Indian lady who was detained in Canada on purely technical technical - and made to sit on a stool through night - till her husband, a Candian Nationals of Indian origin, could arrange to get her cleared the next day morning. This lady is not nobody. She is the wife of a Prof. emireitous in the University of London, Ontario who also happens to be among the most respected person in the Acadamic world.
Please stop painting India black. The most disguesting persons on earth happen to be NRIs. Check with the customs how did they behave with the customs authorities. I remember President mentioning how these NRI when they are abroad behave perfectly like a civilised person and the moment they land in India they start saying things like, " Thu Janthanahi Main Kown ho."
Hi, this was really bad on part of immigration officers who did not treat their own people. But dont you think that same would have happened had someone from India had travelled to USA and forget to bring Visa. American immigration officers would have sent them back immediately. I am not sure if they are more liberal and would have agreed to wait for the Fax. I am glad that you mailed and brought this issue in front of others. Someone in Mumbai can lodge a complaint against these officers for their behaviour.
shameful act of a reponsible officer. Yes this is India where any thing can happen????????
Thank God kids were not imprisoned?
Keep it up mumbai Police. You deserve Presidents medal along with your Bosses for graet Job done. Make India International destination for Tourism this way?????????
This is something ridiculous. You allow a frenchman on a two day transit visa but you can't allow a child of Indian citizen on same visa. That too a snmall kid who has already travelled for 22 hours. Why there are separete laws for people with white skin. & seprate laws for people with black skin so racisim still exits in India. It was very bad on the part of the customs officials at least they could have given them 5- 6 hous to get the documents faxed. 45 mins it to less time.
Mumbai Immigration is the worst I ever seen. i would never land to Mumbai as I had worst exeperiance with same Mumbai immigation official asking bribe for no reaseon and made me missing flight!
