Its true that a law is a law but at the same time we should not forget that it is same for all and secondly it is framed only to facilitate people. Its a great shame on our part. A little responsible approach and behaviour by the concerned officials would have turned the things in a pleasant way without disobeying the law.
George! by all ways the behaviour of the concerned officials do not confirm to standards of humanity. SHAME SHAME SHAME.... We feel sorry for the kids and we hope that they won't judge India by the deeds of a handful of men in uniform.
Rules are rules ... just because a frenchman got the visa that does not mean that his children will automatically get the VISA. We have many instances of people coming to the US on valid visas and being denied entry just because the officer feels that they could be potential immigrants. Viraj should have applied for valid visa for his kids and the normal procedure takes 2 weeks with expedited services in 24 hours.
The 3 most important things required when travelling are: tickets, passport and visa.....How could u forget them. You might have not forgot taking chocolates, watches, clothes, make-up kits for ur friends and relatives......did u? One of my friend was on OPT and had everything with him, even a letter from employer, when he was returning from india. He was deported back from the USA airport. Rules are Rules and the airport authorities just follow them.
I think the immigration officials could have used some common sense and humanitarian consideration in this regard. It's not as if unidentified persons of possibly terrorist origin had landed! This is not the way to treat the progeny of our own countrymen.
Did you try to bribe them ? If you did, I am sure your sons would have had a red carpet welcome by those officers. Skin color doesn't make difference to them. It is the currency paper makes the difference. They all answerable to GOD.
This is how every govt official treat fellow indian. I have had worst ever experience in mumbai airport when i travelled through mumbai. I am never traveling through it again.
Most corrupt immigration and customs officials are in mumbai airport. It's high time we take care of this issue.
I read this whole thing with shock and disbelief. It could easily have been me or anyone one else in that place and i cant even imagine what would have gone through the kids minds.I think that couple can go ahead and sue the airport people and i would love to see a panality on the airport guys.for a moment even i felt ashamed of being an indian.
