rude behaviour need to be funished...
by Girish on Dec 20, 2006 01:32 PM  Permalink

That officer treated the parents badly. He should have given them reasonable time to get the documents faxed. He should have certainly allowed those parents to speak to the higher official. Is there any contact for Maharashtra Chief Minister so that we can request punishment to that officer and teach those BAD guys a lesson. Do we know the officer's name and id?

Your kids will learn
by Dr Sayanta Jana on Dec 20, 2006 01:31 PM  Permalink

Hi Vijay,

This behaviour towards your kids is just apalling, or rather shocking. This again proves, that India is only about corruption, black money & heartless politicians....with not even a touch of humanity. Your children maybe young, but they will definitely learn from this experience, when they mature....they will justif their reason to be American citizens. Our only mistake, is , we are Indians by birth.

Regards

deportation
by phalaksh on Dec 20, 2006 01:31 PM  Permalink

well in this day and age of global terrors you cant afford to make such mistakes mate.i am sure there must be something dodgy becoz nobody simply forgets to get a visa. how can somebody even sympathise with you when you dont have a valid visa to enter a country. just imagine what would US the country of your children would have done in somebody entered wihtout a valid visa.

no country can make exceptions. u cant make exceptions. if he had allowed you then it would amount to emotional bribary. and you would say india is a corrupty country.

i am a NRE by the way,and i would say

Well done the immigration officials.

Heartless...
by dilip on Dec 20, 2006 01:30 PM  Permalink

This truely takes the cake amongst all examples of crass behaviour by the government officials. I wonder how we manage to pick such gems to hold responsible positions where they have to have regular interphase with public.

Let`s see how the Home Ministry defends this !!!

by sunil on Dec 20, 2006 01:28 PM  Permalink

Its really very inhuman behaviour of Mumbai Immigration officer. If we indian are doing act of racisum then no body in the world will give you respect.

Higher officials should look into the matter seriously and take a strong action against culprits.Foreign ministy should look into the laws to make it more flexible atleast toward children.

Let us do those act which make us feel "PROUD TO BE INDIAN"

mumbai immigration deports kids
by sameer on Dec 20, 2006 01:26 PM  Permalink

It is shocking to know that such an inhumane treatment is given by our own fellow indians.

Strict action should be taken against such officials who are biased (racial).

These type of issues make people loose faith in indian administration and tend them not to return back to home country, leaving India starved of their skills and knowledge developed abroad.

Many people have had a very bad experience with Mumbai immigration. Why is this Mumbai immigration department sooooo worst. Can't some action be taken to review their image for betterment of all travellers.

These officials should visit other countries and see how badly we are treated just because we are indians/asians and on the otherside how much care they take to facilitate their own citizens.

Vijay, while we are compassionate with your situation, we strongly urge for action against such officials and request them to develop our Indian tradition of supporting a fellow being in time of distress.

Hope to see action taken on this issue.

Good wishes to all.

Peep in your own backyard
by Indian on Dec 20, 2006 01:25 PM  Permalink

Surely the experience was very bad, and no one should face it again. But on the other side the family of deported, should not take for granted, while coming or flying to India.

Good at least, the family was able to speak or call somebody in US and had 45 minutes in hand, but if it would have been a case way around, and detained and deported from US. Ask the people who have faced deportation from US even after having proper documents.

So the family should not curb about the things over here, and have a look in their own backyard and plan properly a trip next time with all the documents.

YOU FORGET UR PASSPORT. TRY DOING THIS IN US. leave ur green card here and try landing in US, u might not even be alive to make such idiotic comments. "ashamed of being an india", thank god u had a pleasant officer, i would have deported u. we dont want such irresponsible creatures as indian citizens. if ur kid asks y people behave this way in india tell him/her that b'cos he has one idiotic and irresponsible parent. next time, try to bring the required documents along with ur BRAIN (if u have so)
