Yes it was terrible behaviour, but one incidence and you feel ashamed to be an Indian ? . I don't deny that what happened with you was inhuman but if it makes you feel ashamed then be where you are.

100% agree with you... Experience can be good or bad.. How can you be ashamed of the country which gave you everything...
Our civil avaition, home and tourism department head should definitely look in to it. Really this is shameful. There should be a well defined rule and to be dealt with every one accrodingly. Our problem is we talk too much but do nothing. As an indian i feel very sorry for this.
I am sorry a lot. This is India. In all over the world, the government takes care to its citinzen in all the way but here in India they try to suffer you maximum possible. Not like you, but many times happened with me also. On the immigration desk sometime they ask for money too. I am sure if you would have tried to give money they would have allowed you to go. There are millions of illegal in India what govt. is doing, nothing. But, an Indian who missed some documents of his children, is not allowed to go on India territory. I am sorry again.
We are sorry to hear your sad story. But atleast must be happy to know that the immigrations are doing their job. Firstly the excuse of not bringing the visa papers cannot be forgiven To say it would be a breach of rules. Had a similar incident occured in the U.S of A would they have been human I have major doubts. We have heard of cases where in people with valid visas have been deported in the U.S..Talking about stress.I think you should once stand in the queue to get a U.S visa here in India. Maybe then you would realise what being inhuman is. Parents with new borns stand in the scorching sun for hours to even enter the embassy.People always think that India is a place where rules can be maken and broken to suit ones needs I am exceedingly happy to see how the immigration has set an example of doing their job.If one case like yours is considered it would lead to many more such cases where people would plead immigrations on arrival for transit visas. This atleast would set an example that people be more responsible instead of blaming the other party firstly to check and re-check their documents before departure. This is a matter about the nation's security.Be more responsible.
I strongly condemn the inhuman behavior shown to my fellow Indian. This is just an example we face with these kind of people, not only Indians but the whole Asians. I have seen policemen in airports showing their whole lot of teeth to a foreigner with white skin and all of a sudden their face and attitude changes when they see their own people, treating them like a terrorist. These people don't understand what we are going through in foreign lands just because we have a darker shade of skin - at least they would not do this to their own countrymen. These kind of incidents have to be changed in India for the world to accept you as a developing nation.
This is a bad example no doubt on the part of the immigration in Mumbai... but it does not absolve you to take any country fro granted.. try to reason with the US immigration ... say you did not bring your GC.. man if you overstay your B2 in the US .. you will not realise that the visa has been cancelled until the next time you actually land.. assume you are a 70+ senior citizen who has travelled all the way from India.. there is no lax for any thing.. It is a equal world.. the immigration could have been considerate- however it is your fault to have taken the country especially India for granted
This matter should be toatlly investigated and if the officer is found guilty then he should be given punishment (shuld not be just transfer) should be thrown out of service and suitably fined. There are cases of emergencies like this hence the officer on duty should be considarative. In case of Sunami vicims in thiland resorts where lot of foreigners dies and lost the things , the concerned government has send there people to help them they came back even without passports. Air France should also punished as they shown negligence in there work.
