Hi ,

I am very sorry for the agony and pain you have gone through. This issue should be taken to higher officials and the responsible persons should be suspended immediately.I know when we go to india after a long time we go we lot of eagerness to meetour parents and relatives. This official has made that a nightmare. Some action should be taken on this so it is not repeated in future.

We are all with you.

Regards

Kavita Vijay

I would support Immigration team
by Ragu on Dec 20, 2006 10:15 PM  Permalink

Though it was a pain for the NRI. I would like to ask couple of questions to him.

Did he ever forget to take papers to US consulate or port of entry?

Did the US consulate or immigaration process his incomplete papers?

If the US or foreign government denies his entry then it is their duty... but if the indian official denies it is inhumanity.... is not it???

Why are you shame abt you are an indian?? .... If you really want to be an indian you would have applied for indian citizenship for ur kids.

Do he dare to make such a comment on the foriegn immigration officials, if the entry denied?

by swati on Dec 20, 2006 10:13 PM  Permalink

If we agree that the officials did their rightful duty where it go for the Frenchman??
The usual suckups thats what its all about .
Even if the parents were wrong so were the officials if they have to adhere to their duties adhere in ways to all dont be partial and show that indian are dying for forieng entry.
It's a shameful that there are people supoorting this i guess they too belong to that class, else how would they defend them.

custom and immigration in India
by santosh on Dec 20, 2006 10:13 PM  Permalink

I am sorry for your bitter experince. I had a similar problem with coustoms oficer in Mumbai couple of years back. People over there are more interested in making money(illegal) rather than helping out. I traveled all the way from US to India and stoped at few places.I never felt insecured through out my journey untill i reached Mumbai. No one is ready to help you out or take accountability for there mistakes. I have to run around to report lost laugage and have to stay one day in mumbai. Finally i lost hope and left to Hyderabad. After few days my laugage was sent to home but they have taken things from it. After that day i have decided never to land in Mumbai.

People loose interest in returning to there home land when they face situations like this. Immigration officials should have be little bit considereate in Shriwardhanka case.

Mumbai Security Personnel are one of the worst
by Venugopal Ramakrishnappa on Dec 20, 2006 10:11 PM  Permalink

Hello,

I have had a similar experience on my way back from Bangalore to Newark. I had to change my flight in Mumbai. My baggage was checked in at Bangalore.

After Security check when I was about to board the flight, the security personnel asked me and all the passengers for that matter to handover the carry baggage as we are not supposed to carry in the flight. I was surprised. When I questioned, the officer in charge told me that I will have to miss the flight and go stay back if I disobey. I felt if I was in some DICTATOR Land. Unless we let go these inhuman officials who are senseless, we are going to suffer in this democratic country.

-Venu.

Mumbai immigration
by Jai on Dec 20, 2006 10:10 PM  Permalink

Accept your stupid mistake Vijay. You can blame only yourself for this stupid thing. You go to any country without visa. You will get the same treatment.

Stop blaming India. You look idiot when you blame your own roots.

Unbelievable!!!
by Bharath on Dec 20, 2006 10:08 PM  Permalink

I am shocked to hear that. The actions of the cops does not transpire as

that of an individual but as a country's system as a whole. And

therefore today as an Indian I am truly ashamed. What pains me even

more is the fact that kids had to suffer for this stupidity.
