by izoulet on Dec 30, 2006 10:49 AM  Permalink

This is an atrocious mistake done by the immigration officials this should be condemned and punished severely, the officials have no right to send back your children even if they have no visa, how could this have possibly happened in India???!!!!

This is a very bad news for mumbai immigration dept,
no senior officer on duty, kids are at mercy of acp.
acp do not want to resolve and co-operate.

couple must send this message to star tv, india tv,zee tv.such things happen once in lakhs.
its officer duty to take care of 2 kids who are
innocent and travelling for 22 hrs.
i do agree that 1st of all its carelessness of parents that they do not carry indian visa, pio card.
but at the same time mumbai immigration should resolve
this matter and let kids allowed to enjoy xmas in india, let them see what india is ....

b rgds

I agree to what our Immigration Officials did
by Ashish on Dec 30, 2006 09:58 AM  Permalink

Would Vijay would have reacted the similar way had he forgotten the US visa coming to the US and was asked to deport?

I am an NRI and still I respect the way India is growing. India would be a few of countries who has the culture to treat guests like Gods provided the Guests do not pose a threat on our national security. Our problems is our humbleness.. hence we have all the problems like intrusions and terrorist attacks. Hence, please respect the Indian law and order and let India grow.

deport kids
by Vinay Duggal on Dec 30, 2006 09:11 AM  Permalink

The behavior of certain Mumbai Airport officials was atrocious.

India may have come a long way economically over the past decade but unfortunately, many people(especially those employed by the government) are sorely lacking in basic customer service skills.

I feel sorry for you....

I do feel bad for the children, but the irresponsible behavior of the parents is to be blamed. If you are going to travel abroad then get your papers in order. Don't blame India and Indians for your follies. Feel lucky that you were not landing in US from India....you would probably be treated worst.

Kids denied visa
by Sangeeta on Dec 30, 2006 01:33 AM  Permalink

I think this kind of behavior by Indian officials is really disgusting. Travelling with 2 kids after 22 hours of plane journey and getting this kind of inhumane treatment is ridiculous. I mean if they can give the Indian visa to Charles Shobhraj(???) and lots of other thugs why not 2 little kids who did not have any other agenda than to spend some time with the loved ones and whose parenst did a mistake and accepted that they did one.I feel reallly bad for this family.
