Looks like Mr. Shyam S is either an Indian Immigration officer or a relative of one, thats why he is trying to justify what that stupid person did. Also mind him Green Card doesnt come dozen a dime, otherwise he would have been sitting in USA with his entire family. One has to work very hard and honestly to earn that status. Now, try to imagine same scenario happened to an US citizen at an US airport, Immigration officer would gone out of the way to help/guide them specially when they have minor children coming from such a long travel. We Indians want to compete with developed nations like USA, UK etc., but dont know why those countries are so successful. They all respect their fellow citizens. If a single man goes missing or is in trouble, entire country goes out to help them. We Indians specially those who are in any sort of power like to humiliate other Indians. We have no respect for our fellow Indian brothers. This has to change Mr. Shyam S. Nobody is stopping that Immigration officer from doing his duty, but all we expect is keeping his human side alive and have little bit of respect for fellow Indians and other human beings.
Obviously if someone has to be blamed then it should be the parents. Did they forget to carry their green card with them? No, because they would not have been able to enter US back and would have got the same treatment from US officials. Perhaps maybe even handcuffed and deported back. So what are they nagging about Indian officials? If they say they have been in US for 9 years then they should have known better. Rules are rules! Get your papers right next time.
why so much hype? Officials just done their duty..! Shouldnt they do the same just because parents were ignorant of the fact that they need proper documents with them for their kids.. I wonder why everybody is criticising officials.. if on humanity basis they allow everyone to enter the country without proper documents then ... imagine what will happen.. Also keep this in mind that no other country will allow entry into their land without proper documents. And some people say that this is not good for tourism.. I just disagree with this.. next anyone will come and tell immigration officials that they must be allowed in the country for tourism without visas. Is this allowable?
What the hell does this vijay think? Just because he is indian how does he expect Indian Immigration to allow "any" relative of his to be allowed inside this country? can he even dream about demanding the same from his USA? First of all it is stupidity from his part to come to another country without Visa. Only Indians can remain foolish and proudly demand such things from India....
Well, the parents should have known that their kids needed a visa - why dont they take some of the reposnibility for the fiasco rather than blame the immigration officials!
in continuation of the previous email, I feel sad for all that happened and there should be more human considerations, but I want all indians to understand the country of India, which gave refugee status to so many immigrants,,,still helping a lot of people. The issue looks a separate one for the individual concerned, but not for the immigration department as they may be facing many such cases and they can only be fair to all using one rule and they may want to prevent this practice. Many countries deny entry if no visa is there and they have to be put back on the carrier which brought them without a visa. I guess that could have triggered the issue of immediate faxing, So let us be proud indians and not blame the roots, as without the kind of upbringing, the success one has achieved at far off places would not have been possible,,,,
Dear Sir, it is really sad what happened to your kids and family. But, I would say what happened was right. Situation is called "PAPERS NOT IN ORDER", which means you are NOT ALLOWED to enter in the country. You people think India is a garden state and you can do whatever you can, just because you have got few bucks now. If your kids would have been allowed to enter, then also you would have complained and you would have bragged to your fellow NRIs how you made Indian immigration do what you wanted. This has nothing to do with French people. They were allowed because they were tourists and their tone was of request not yelling that you did. India has changed and you NRIs also need to change otherwise LAW will do what has to be done (that includes deportation)
I am not surprised to see this kind of attitude on Indian officials.I have traveled a lot outside country and everytime I face a situation where they don't leave an oppurtunity to harras. The lick the ass of Foriegners who laugh at us staing that your people dont co-operate or assist you. Even I faced same problem in Goa.These shows a negative attitude which forces people to run out of Country resulting in Brain Drain and Govt begs them later for Foriegn Exchange. Show a positive attitude as we discriminate on basis of state,Religion and Language.We cannot grow on this basis.China is far ahead for these issues. We have lost bargaining power in Foriegn land.
