Re: Mumbai immigration deports kids!
by Saravana on Dec 21, 2006 01:06 PM  Permalink

Do you beleive this, in the tone it is explained. Iam sure if I have to buy the argument that Indian Immigration officials reacted in a rude and inhumane manner, but will the AirFrance also follow suit ?

When somebody has committed a mistake or forgotten travel documentation during visit abroad, we feel for it and approach the concerned officials with an attitude that is totally different otherwise. This story is "build-up" as I feel that Vijay's attitude in dealing at that situation must have compelled the officials to follow the hardline and so must have been the case with Airfrance officials.

I have seen people who make such scenes in the public place and I would feel sorry for the security / officials concerned dealing with such persons.

Yes, the kids suffered is true but the parents are to be blamed solely for the incident. Unfortunately the sympathy factor took a back step this time. Better luck next time.

Mumbai immigration deports kids!
by ek on Dec 21, 2006 01:04 PM  Permalink

In my opinion, both immigration and Vijay & Vaishali is culprit. First mistake is from Vijay and Vaishali for forgetting the visa (Which is of PRIME IMPORTANT When anybody travels to any foreign nation--There is no harm in checking the visa two or three times before and during the journey..!!).

Ok..now as things happened like forgetting the visa,The Mistake from immigration side is that they dont have any humanitarian consideration to anybody except for WHITE SKIN..!!If you go to any foreign nation, you should see how gratefully they take care about there citizens in the immigration counter (separate counter, with a smiling face, with humanitarian considerations).

I think INDIA is the only country who behave badly with there counterparts mainly in the immigration counter...my own experiences are not at all good in this regard. They handle people with JELOUS. The outcome of RESERVATIONS on government positions and there hunger for money in the form of getting bribe will give white skin everything they wanted and not the basic thing an Indian national wanted ...!!!( I am looking around, no.. Gandhiji is not around...to help, we are going back to where Gandhiji started from).

Law Misunderstood
by Sabyasachi on Dec 21, 2006 01:01 PM  Permalink

Laws are made for the good of the common man to bring about a system in a process inorder to avoid chaos. However, when the laws themselves fail to see the light or reason/logic, they can become harmful as has been highlighted in the case above. Since I have heard only one side of the story, and assuming what has been said to be true, it truly speaks poorly of the Indian official (ACP) who could do such a thing. There is a great necessity now a days to understand the reason for a law and to act accordingly. At the same time, the difference between bending the law for a genuine cause (which causes no harm to society or others) and breaking the law (for personal benefits, causing distress to the society) should clearly be known.

You cant blame Mumbai Immigration when you have already done mistake
by Ashish Chaware on Dec 21, 2006 12:53 PM  Permalink

Dear Vijay,

I think you can suggest how Mumbai Immigration should have behaved, but You cant blame Mumbai them when you have already done mistake. Certainly they were too rude to follow their rules strictly, without realising the situation and timing flexibilities. And you should be ashamed of your being indian as you ve forgot to get Visa for ur kids, rediculous undiscipline by you!!!
