Feeling sorry for the kids!

Personally I don't feel much for the parents, they should have been a little more careful. However I feel the kids got a raw deal. Being US nationals, they are our guests, and our motto is 'Athithi Devo Bhava'. Given the circumstances, I guess the immigration expert should have shown some leniency and given a little more time to the parents to sort out the mess.

You can only talk in this tone because you have never been out of the country and can not really understand the pains and suffering we go thru the Indian immigration. Get some and talk this way.
These immigration fellows are real crooks.. Its like a saying goes in hindi "Bandar ke haath mai talwaar (Monkey given a sword)". They are the most corrupt officials you would ever see.. Just recently my cousin had come from SA and they demanded Rs 40,000/-... After denying the amount they put up a false case saying he didnt show his passport on demand... And a cheating case was put.. On an average there are two such cases being reported in the Sahar Police station every day... The case is now pending in the court... We are trying to lift the standard of India.. We can achieve that only if people like these are replaced with educated people..
What happened to the small children are not good. But we have to blame their parents not the officials. As per Indian law none of the people will be allowed to enter India with out India passport or Visa in foreign passport. If these people dont know about that then they cant blame the officials.
This kind of treatment is unexpected from an Indian official. How much I praise Indians for their big heart, their kindness and sympathatic attitude towards needy people. This is shocking news to me. I think the children and the parents had to face suffering that is why they met such person who was not only unkid but also had stone heart, who couldn't see the pain and suffering he was giving to those beautiful children. I pray to Buddha to give wisdom to such people so they do not accumulate bad karma day by day.I have pure sympathy for the family and pray for them that their karma improves and they meet only positive and compassionate people.
Mumbai Immigration authority had done nothing wrong. The officer performed his duty very well. How some one can forget passport while visiting from one country to another. Can u travel in Indian trains in reservation coach without ticket saying that u have booked the ticket but forgot to bring it while coming out of home? Will TTE allow u to travel in reservation coach officially?
Regarding discrimination, do not blame Immigration Authority and Government Officials only,we people r like this only. I am an Indian and live in Middle East. I face even worst kind of discrimination from our own Indian people. The ground reality is that if u r not from a particular part of India and staying in middle east, you will face even worst kind of discrimination from our own brothers from this great country staying in Middle east. Stop blamming immigration officer.
First time I heard such news where they have taken lawful action. I think such NRIs want to buy government after coming from America and want to show off everywhere about their deeds. Here Mr. & Mrs. Greencard forgot that their children had to take Indian visa after having ABCDship!!! I guess they forgot their previous days when applied for USA Visa. Coz of such things only we are #1 corrupt nation on planet earth. Great job Mumbai Officials!!!
It was very sad to read about the unfortunate incident which happened where Mr. Vijay had to go back immediately after landing because he could not obtain a transit visa for his children. Our immigration officials have no idea as to whom to trust and whom not to trust. They could have given Mr. Vijay some more time in the immigration area. After the flight left, the visa was received. Mr. Vijay suffered not only financial loss but was disgusted with the way we treat our own people. The immigration people cannot be so crude and be so cruel to our own people. India is progressing ! I do not know which way and how. Can we expect tourism to pick up with these officials around?
No surprise at all when cowards are deputed to deal with human beings. Mumbai is the place where u find only cowards (Not only immigration officials even all the ground staff posted here for all airlines or onbehalf of international airlines)everywhere, they think themselves as supreme people over the other. Reason for this being ignorant, lack of knowledge, lack of best education (Human and personality development)and training, lack of human descipline and finally the positive attitude to solve the problem of others.
Govt of India should take very serious steps to privatize all these departments, where dealing with general public/people is invloved in India. I have many more inhumane expeience with officials(Govt) in India and very frankly I am afraid of going to such places for any work. May be we need propely trained and well groomed people to deal with such situations.
It is a pity that such an incident occured especially when a French national was given favour to an Indian. This explains why our country is still a developing nation. No point of abundance in intelligence if there exists selfish attitudes.
When I was travelling once,it was quite bemusing to notice that the Mumbai immigration officer asked for my UK visa after I just returned from there.
For Heaven's sake or even Santa's sake, these are questions one needs to ask before u travel to a foreign country not after u come back !!!
One more step towards becoming a super power. This is a time when officials should have accepted a bribe and let the kids in. So when does India deport illegals from Bangladesh and the EU (Goa is full of these on drugs).
