Salutes to our brave soldiers!!
by yamuna shankar on Jun 08, 2007 07:20 PM  Permalink

My heartfelt thanks to every soldier who is risking his life out there... getting locked up in prison.. suffering in silence.. and those family members who have lost their loved ones, more worse those who dont know what happened to their loved ones...

May God bless this world with peace and love. Let everyone realise that by giving others happiness is true way to God's heart!

Dont worry.. soon this world will become a peaceful place.. there will be no more brutal deaths... and tension... we will all live happily!!

Memories of a Prisoner of War
by Farhatullah Babar on Dec 08, 2006 06:23 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Dear Sir,

In his article Memories of a Prisoner of War the author says, 'Benazir Bhutto during her premiership ordered the demolition of the old jail, and there is a public park in its place now'

This is not correct. Actually it was the government of Mian Nawaz Sharif who ordered the demolition of the old jail. When the PPP government came into power Mohtarma Bhutto cancelled the demolition orders.

The PPP government even tried to build a museum at the site but before the proposed project could take off Mohtarma Bhutto's government was dismissed.

Memories of a POW
by Francis on Dec 08, 2006 12:04 PM  Permalink

Thrilling. Excellent narration by Col. Athale. At the same time, how one country has been divided into two by alien rulers and made to fight each other...How could our leaders succumb to such blackmail

Memories of a POW
by Shirish Paranjape on Dec 08, 2006 11:43 AM  Permalink

Many thanks to Shri Anil Athale for sharing this very personal and emotional experience of a POW.

It is not very often we get to read such first-hand accounts.

Dear Anil, did the 6 Gorkha soldiers who were taken with you also return safe - I sincerely hope they did.

Have a nice day.

What indian govt doing
by Mallesh on Dec 08, 2006 05:38 AM  Permalink

I strongly believe that both nations must release such prisoners. A human life is highly valuable. I think there must be some organizations especially for victims of wars [not only for india, for entire world]
I pray god to establish VASUDHAIKA KUTUMBAM [UNIVERSAL FAMILY] as early as possible.
