Not enough
by Subbu on Dec 05, 2006 11:45 PM  Permalink

There should be separate law and punishment for politicians in our country. Life sentence is not enough for him. Being a politician he should understand that his duty is to serve people and not hatch plots to kill someone. He should be awarded death sentence, if found guilty, so that other politicians would refrain from corruption.

Shibu Soren gets life sentence
by S.Ramaswamy on Dec 05, 2006 10:58 PM  Permalink

Even if delayed, justice is done at last. There are a couple of more cases which should be also pursued vigorously and Soren given the punishment due to him.
The Congress which used his support to keep narasimha Rao's Gov alive ought to feel ashamed for that capital act of fraud and also for keeping him in the cabinet for so long knowing well that he was a criminal

A gud example
by Girish on Dec 05, 2006 10:04 PM  Permalink

If such judgements had been a regular course and not exception, and also lead to convictions, the state of country had not fallen to such low levels. This is only a symbolic example of freeing criminalisation of politics.
Politics should be treated as an opportunity for nation building by leadership, capability and management, and not a surrogate for self accomplishment.

Shibu Soren gets lifer
by Yugal Joshi on Dec 05, 2006 10:00 PM  Permalink

One more farcical display of justice in India. It makes such a great headline to praise our justice system that it even hangs an ex minister. But in reality these are all gimmicks to exploit the loop holes in our law. Why not the Supreme Court pass this judgment. These murderers know that public memory is short and they would file another appeal in higher court and get acquittal. The judges are on payroll of these murderers masquerading as politicians. Its a shame and a blemish on India and its politics. Well does not matter as we have left with no shame any more.
